Default GOP ties poor job numbers to tax breaks....wait, what?

GOP ties job numbers to anti-tax stance in debt talks - CNN.com

Taxes haven't been this low in our lifetimes.
We have the 3rd LOWEST corporate tax rate among industrial nations.
We've been slashing taxes for over a decade.
We kept the Bush tax cuts in place
We kept corporate loopholes in place
We kept the capital gains Tax at 15%
We slashed regulations for well over a decade.
We have a tanking economy
We are exporting jobs and creating unemployment.
The Wage gap is increasing at a staggering pace
The wealthiest are paying less taxes
The revenue is drying up

and John Frickin Boehner has the BALLZ to ask "where are the jobs?" and blame a weak job market on not enough tax cuts? YOu frickin prick. The very thing you are complaining about is caused by the very same philosophy you boast we need. Its categorized as INSANITY (doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different resault)

Great Question JOHN....Where ARE the Jobs?

after all, you are the speaker of the house, and have yet to present a SINGLE jobs bill. we've had a ton of abortion bills, but not a single jobs bill? You are an a-hole.

You lost me.

This is a popular meme, but I really don't see it.

He is a bit of a tool. One thing the House has done is pass a "budget". Something the Senate might consider.

How does one quantify reduced regulations?

# of pages of regulations being lower?

Specific areas of regulation/deregulation?

I haven't seen any areas where there has been quantifiable deregulation of anything just moving around the goalpost to solicit campaign $$$$.

Bureaucrats keep themselves busy and in many cases their work product (such as it is) is regulations, we know that organizations (be it a religion or government) seek to insure their own survival and seek to increase their power. Bureaucracies do this through regulation.

The establishment hates the idea of the Flat tax it is transparent and eviscerates their ability to play class warfare and dispense favors to supporters and punish opponents. Same with regulations. This is true at the Federal, State and Local levels.

Ten Charts that Prove the United States Is a Low-Tax Country

Overall, U.S. Taxes Are Third-Lowest Among
OECD Nations
 In 2009, total federal, state and local taxes
in the United States were 22.6 percent of our
gross domestic product, ranking 26th among
the 28 OECD countries for which data are
available. Only Chile (18.2 percent) and
Mexico (17.5 percent) had lower taxes.
 In 2009, total taxes in the 25 OECD nations
with higher taxes than ours ranged from 24.6
percent of GDP in Turkey to 48.2 percent in
Denmark.
 In most cases, the difference in tax levels
between the U.S. and OECD countries is not
even close. Of the 25 OECD nations with
taxes higher than ours, 22 of them have taxes
that are at least 25 percent higher, and 15
have taxes at least 50 percent higher.

The countries they compare in many cases don't also have the burden of state, county and municipal taxes in ADDITION to the National taxes and property taxes. So the comparison is nonsense in short. The more meaningful number is TOTAL government spending as a % of GDP the rest is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
PatriotsReign likes this.

Your original post was that corporate rates were the third lowest. What you have posted is total revenues (all sources) at all levels as a % of GDP.

Not sure where OECD got their figures. OMB has total revenues as % of GDP at 25 for 2009 (24.7 for 2010). The average since 1948 is 26.6.

The U.S. figures do include state and local taxes.

Global 500 2010: Maps - Top 500

If we are such a bunch of Tax-holes....why do fortune 500 comapnies headquarter here?

why is the worlds largest, most profitable company loctaed in the US? (Wal-Mart)

why is the 3rd most profitable located in the US? (Exxon Mobil)

or the 11th...(Chevron)

or the 13th?...(GE)

or the 15th? (BofA)

Oh...thats right? because they pay little to NO taxes to the united states

Tax bills for 5 corporate giants - Exxon Mobil: $15.1 billion (2) - CNNMoney.com

"Exxon paid the most taxes last year of any U.S. company, by far -- but not a cent went to the IRS for income taxes. That's because the oil giant does business in some of the mostly highly taxed countries in the world. Want to extract petroleum in Nigeria? Be prepared to fork over up to 85% of your profit in tax payments."

Again, that was not your original point.

Our large corporations use lobbyists to help them escape taxes. It's small businesses (without lobbyists) that end up paying the tab. I favor just eliminating them rather than continuing to pretend we collect them. Get rid of all subsidies.

No more picking winners and losers in the economy.

Thats something I'd say 99% of americans agree with.

Why are most conservatives (and the president for some dumb reason) siding with 1% of the population?

If you and I pick up the slack for multi-nationals and billionaires, when do we say enough is enough?

Flat Tax! everyone pays 25% EVERYONE. If corporations want to be treated as human beings, let them be taxed as such.
eliminate Tax on anything "Made in the USA"
make election day a national holiday

lets start there.
