3 years in prison and acquitted. Gotta love our legal system.

I don't think it was denied, was it? It was my understanding that after she was rearrested for stealing the checks that the bondsman who put up her bond rescinded his money - and no one else would touch it.
It's part of our legal system - if you, your family, your friends or a bondsman either can't or won't come up with the necessary percentage of money, you get to stay in jail.
She's surely not the only one this has happened to. Poor people sit in jail every day because they can't come up with the necessary cash money to bond out.
Plus, if you violate conditions of your bail it's entirely at the court's discretion as to whether you get to continue being free while awaiting trial.
It's not too smart to commit a second crime when you are just let out on bail for a first one.
Not everyone is Lindsey Lohan lucky.
