Come on, don't defend Cochran. He pandered to and drew upon unrelated emotions of past wrongs to set a cold blooded murderer free. He got jurors to cry by comparing the prosecution to a modern day Hitler that wasn't persecuting Jews, but African Americans. He played the race card for all it was worth, He's a dirty rotten lying lawyer so he might not actually be racist, but he played one on TV so that OJ would walk. So he did he's job. he got his client off but we don't have to like the way he did it. Getting the job done does not absolve him of unethical tactics in my opinion.
His tactics being something we don't like is different from them being unethical.
He did his job. Unless he did something truly unethical, he was playing a critical role in our justice system.

Getting the job done does not absolve him of unethical tactics, I agree.
But I don't think he did anything unethical. If you do, please let me know what those actions were. (and if he acted unethically, these are things there are or should be rules against, and something you'd want to see him or any other defense attorney reprimanded or potentially disbarred for, right?)

I respectfully disagree. It may not fall in the legal definition of unethical, but it was unethical. These are the words considered synonymous with "ethical"

Those synonyms strike me as being a standard of behavior above ethical -- in other words, I think one can avoid acting unethically while not being particularly virtuous, either.
If you go to m-w.com, the definition I think of for this context is "conforming to accepted standards of conduct."
So maybe it's a matter of how we're looking at the word.
If it isn't, are their actions of his that should be disallowed as behavior by a defense attorney?
'He told the producer: "Tell Oprah that yes, I did it. I killed Nicole, but it was in self-defence. She pulled a knife on me and I had to defend myself",' the insider was quoted as saying.
The whole world knows what was behind that verdict, the jury was just like one of the old "Klan Jurys" of the South back in the bad days, the day the trial started there were bets on the streets of how it would come out, The OJ Simpson Trial was a disgrace to our Court System, if I was a Lawyer i'd flog myself.

I took those synonyms for ethical directly from dictionary.com which reinforced my understanding of the word. Technically those qualities can't be measured so he gets away with it. I think I know crap when I see it though and his pleading with the jury to compare Hitler with the prosecution was it. He put race and racism on trial with that jury, not OJ Simpson. Success in this case does not equal ethics or justice and concluding that he did his job does not make it ok with me. A cold blooded murderer walked.

I didn't say anything about it being justice. I also didn't question the validity of those synonyms; I was saying that we appear to be using different meanings of the word (both of which are valid).
