Girl Solves Global Warming is Today's BIG Thing - JUN 20, 2011

We tend to overthink complex solutions to seemingly complex issues. I'm not saying that global warming is real, nor do I think that the girl in this video does, but in 45 seconds she is able to clearly sum up the problem, and present a simple, elegant solution in terms that almost everyone can understand. I've been on the west coast for a dozen or so years, so the landmarks in the background are not ringing a bell, but it certainly looks like the dome at MIT behind her. If she isn't already a student, she should send in this video as an application and be accepted on the spot. We need more minds like this.

Air conditioners create as much heat as they create cold air ... but good try kid.

A good way to save a bit of energy - on a very hot day douse your AC grills with a hose ... the air gets real cold real fast.
