Your opinion comes from your informed mind - many Americans are not informed at all and are easy prey for the MSM. Anyone who can get sound bites - however small to show something ... however different ... helps keep everything in balance.

Where would our democracy be without ultra liberals, religious conservatives, socialists, the college commies ... etc ... all serve a purpose however small. Many of these dissenters are jailed elsewhere. None of us are 100% right or wrong but some have trouble understanding that. You silence the Palins - the Limbaughs - the Hannity's ... etc ... and you and I and everyone else will suffer IMO.

I use the country and George Bush after 9/11 as an example.

Too many Americans were on board with Bush - we all know the rest of the story.

Perhaps if there were lefty versions of palin out there it may have been tougher to go to Afghanistan which would have negated going to Iraq. Code Pink, Cyndi and all the rest of them came on board to late to matter.

Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting she be silenced in any way.

I guess to the extent she gets people involved, that is a good thing.

I just think that when it comes to "issues," she's basically pandering rather than challenging points of view -- thus the difference with somebody like Ron Paul, who is the first pol I thought of when I read your post.

But, again, if part of what you're saying does speak to getting people involved and activated, then I agree with that aspect of it.

Palin has jury duty so she is behaving like a citizen and reporting...

Quote:
Via POLITICO's Juana Summers, Sarah Palin is throwing water on reports she'd ditched her "One Nation" bus tour, with a Facebook post saying she will be performing her civic duty:
"As I said myself at the end of the east coast leg of the tour, the summer is long, and I'm looking forward to hitting the open road again. The coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan."
I'm sure that will be the last everyone hears of it. At least until she gets picked for a case, or dismissed.

Golly - she must have heard us talking about her:

I did? Hmm, glad I have media to let me know my plans. They never cease to amaze MT "@foxheadlines" Palin Says 'One Nation' Tour on Hold for Jury Duty - FoxNews.com

Twitter

(Interesting that she links to Fox News when speaking of Media "exaggeration.")

And from her Facebook page:

*Sigh* Reports of Tour Demise Are Greatly Exaggeratedby Sarah Palin on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 7:14pm

Imagine our surprise when reading media reports today that the “One Nation Tour” has been cancelled. Why didn’t anyone tell me? Oh, wait, that’s because it hasn’t been cancelled. (Good ol' media... you never cease to amaze!)

As I said myself at the end of the east coast leg of the tour, the summer is long, and I’m looking forward to hitting the open road again. The coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan.

I wouldn’t think it to be such a slow news day that, what with numerous wars and serious economic woes concerning Americans, a bus is driving news stories today. The next leg of the tour continues when the time comes. In the meantime, no one should jump to conclusions – certainly not the media with their long track record of getting things wrong or just making things up.

This is the original story and link from FoxNews.

Palin Bus Tour Takes Extended Pit Stop

Less than a month after she appeared poised to shake up the Republican presidential campaign, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has once again receded from the 2012 limelight.

When Palin launched her "One Nation" bus tour on Memorial Day amid a swirl of media attention and excitement from her fervent fan base, many political observers who had once dismissed her were reminded of the jolt that her candidacy could provide to what has thus far been a relatively sleepy GOP nominating fight.

As Palin toured historical sites along the East Coast, she was clearly reveling in the tangible excitement she'd ginned up: She even eagerly answered questions -- from the denizens of the "lamestream" media -- ranging from matters of political process to an array of issues facing the nation.

I wish the press would stop covering dahling Sarah, then she could complain about how biased the news is for not covering her... her narcissism will not allow her to be silent.

Now is a good time to read Bristol's book.. heard it is one of those you cannot put down. Mo money, Mo Money, Mo Money..

Sarah has become the consummate grifter under the guise of politics..

Never in my lifetime have I seen the panic and fear in politics that this women has created, it drives the communist bastards over at MSNBC insane to see a whole group of people jump to their feet and applaud her the minute she comes into view, the fools can't let her go, it is the Angry Jealous Left Wing Democrat Media themselves that have made her a worldwide household name and if they keep up their childish hate and fear driven attack on her they just may put her in The White House.

The Democrat Media has sifted all through her rubbish and garbage bags they made complete fools out of themselves going through her e-mails like little children looking for an easter egg now what are the f-cking Hate Filled Bastards going to do next demand she have a Colonoscopy so Chris Matthews can put a Video on TV of Sarah Palins Ass Hole.

Sarah Palin Loves The Democrat Media (what would she be without them)

She knows more about energy than any of the republicans candidates and of course far more than anyone in the administration for starters.

She does not know all that much about energy and most of what she did is being undone by a subsequent republican governor..

People want her to be something that she is not..

If Sarah had supported ANGDA as she promised, they would have a pipeline built, instead of a failing AGIA. Her petty jealousies made her create a completely new pipeline entity when ANGDA was already in place, lost alot of State monies into it, and there is still no have a pipeline.

A.G.I.A. is her benchmark legislation. It represents her utter lack of business acumen. Her naïve belief that the state could “buy” a $40 billion pipeline with a $500 million enticement demonstrates her lack of understanding of economic forces like supply and demand. Mostpredict there won’t be a pipeline, but there will be a 10 year court battle over the $500 million. Her A.G.I.A. is even worse than her spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
