Necessary steps that will get the economy rolling and restore American prosperity.
Adopt the Ryan budget: have a plan with teal reform to deal without spending problems
Go a step further eliminate duplicate programs close unnecessary agencies, look up how many "jobs" programs we have it will blow your mind. I'd start with the Dept of Ed which brings nothing to the table. I would also eliminate the Post Office & Amtrak, obsolete depts whose time has come and gone.
Put a Flat Tax in place, with only an individual exemption (children same as parents) of say 15k per person. Rate of 17%. End the double taxation of corporate profits either tax corporate profits of tax capital gains (again at the 17% rate) for public companies. Government revenue would increase dramatically if this happens
Get the EPA out of the CO2 regulating and taxing business. CO2 is plant food not a pollutant. This is connected to the discredited AGW theory.
Become Energy independent within and create hundred of thousands of jobs in the process. Keep our $$$$ out of the hands of OPEC.
This is a terrific update on the situation about US Energy resources:
Contrary to environmentalist talking points, we know that by conservative estimates, the United States enjoys three times the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, we have enough natural gas reserves to last nearly a century.
......
It won’t take decades to tap this oil. In fact, we can produce enough oil to free ourselves entirely from foreign oil imports in the next 10 years. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) supplies more than a third of our oil. Why? We have all we need and more.
Supporting Data at the link. This doesn't take nuclear energy into account (that will be dead for another 20 years due to Fukishima)
Affordable energy is the basis for our wealth. Making ourselves poor deliberately is criminal.

I know! We pump all of our oil out of the ground, sell it to the Chinese and buy wind turbines and solar panels from them. Hell, why don't we just do a straight swap?

Coming into this thread, I didn't think it would be possible to disagree with every single proposition you were to make. But there you have it. The intellectual dishonesty is breathtaking. "Discredited AGW theory" -- really?

Especially when the Wind Turbines will freeze and not work properly in the winter...

If we drill more here we don't have to import as much, why improt from the KSA what you can import from Wyoming?

If you agreed with anything I said I would be worried.
Why would you call me dishonest?
Because I don't agree with you?
How ignorant and arrogant.

You still don't understand.
The oil doesn't belong to America just because it is pumped here. It just goes onto the international spot market. Do you think the oil companies would keep the oil in America and not put it on the world market?????
The only way to make it that way would be for the government to nationalize the production of oil.
