Children's Families Fined $500 For Operating Illegal Lemonade Stand

Even for kids selling lemonade near the US Open golf tournament in Maryland, it's hard to make a buck these days.

Many residents living nearby the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland have found a number of ways to earn a little extra income from the annually descending throng of fans. But this year, two families, the Marriotts and Augustines, have been fined $500 by the local county because their children were "operating a lemonade stand without a permit," according to a Thursday report by local news network 9News Now.

The gubmit has to find enough "revenue" to pay for all the deadbeats and hacks you know.

If the kids parents were illegal aliens they would be in business in fact MSNBC might have even done a "human rights story" slobbering some do-gooder bull***** about what a great thing it was that the kids were learning about The American Way, the kids aren't illegal aliens they're blonde blue eyed American Citizens so the hell with them.

Never mind.....sour grapes.

The people in Bethesda - especially those who live in the immediate area of the country club are a breed unto themselves.

No one you'd want as neighbors.

Honestly.

The video is classic.

Mixed reation to this one.

Number one - - ridiculous to not let the kids have a lemonade stand.

Number two - - that the county is fine with the adults making money on the parking lots on their yards - - as long as they pay up the $300 ransom.

Number three - -the moms of those lemonade stand kids floating out of their multi-million dollar castles to bemoan that the moral of the story to their children "is that there is no American Dream". They actually SAY that at the end of the video. I'm not making it up!!!

Good points, all of them.

Interesting that the parking prices are considered exorbitant in the video but I hardly batted an eye at them having had to pay the same at Gillette for the
past several years.

It's kinda sad that a private property owner needs to give the city $300 to allow people to park on his lawn. Of course, it's even more absurd that a child would need a permit to sell lemonade. What a country we've become.
