So you -- and all the Dems you list here -- are advocating cutting and running. Giving Iraq to those blood-crazed zealots who are "sitting on their hands waiting for the occupiers to leave". Just turn and leave the Iraqis to deal with the guys who have the guns.
That's what I thought.
Meanwhile, the Republicans I've heard are all in favor of "no escalation", an orderly withdrawal of troops, and "no blank check" for the Iraqi government.

So is your strategy to continue in a country that does not really want us ad infinitum?? Every war has to end at some time.. this war has cost us in the trillions.. meanwhile our US infrastructure in crumbling and our economy is on the brink.

No "ad infinitums". As the terrorist insurgency is broken, the Iraqi people will take back their own country. As is happening now. More and more local tribal leaders are cooperating with U.S. coalition forces to root out the trouble-makers. Eventually, the Iraqi forces themselves will be able to do this. Very soon. Within 12 to 18 months.

Do not share this confidence, read this morning that the "surge" will continue and many of our battle weary troops will not be rotated out and possible extended. This war is getting to a breaking point for many of our troops, we are going into a whole new territory as this is lasting too long.. Viet Nam had the draft which kept new bodies coming in, this effort is reaching the saturation point.

And I do not share any confidence in just doing nothing. Just sitting back and waiting for the next round of 9/11 type attacks would cripple America, possibly beyond repair. Keeping the pressure on those who would use violence to further their fanatical global agenda is needed. Not just military pressure -- much more intensive "peace offensive" efforts are absolutely needed -- but military force can never ruled out.

Were the attackers on 9-11 from Iraq?? Guess some more revisionist history!!! Are we really going to stop radical islam by occupying a country, I don't think so.

How many 9/11-scale attacks on the U.S. or other countries over these past 7 years???
