The Patriot Act is not necessary for national security, but it's a great way to hand the government more of our rights. I say this as someone working in national security.

“On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

Don't have Meth Labs in your house
Don't grow pot in your basement

I remember legal cases getting thrown out window b/c a heat sensor light was NOT PROBABLE cause even though it detected a drug lab in the basement.

I see fields of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom

And I say to myself, what a wonderful world.

Not to nitpick but if the President is in Europe and the legislation is in DC, is it constitutional to use an autopen????

>>>
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe (@jaffematt) and Devin Dwyer (@devindwyer) report: Congress officially passed an extension of the Patriot Act tonight, just hours before key provisions of the national security law were due to lapse at midnight.
President Obama, currently on an overseas trip, is not at the White House to sign the bill, a requirement for the measure to become law.
So the White House will use an autopen –- a machine that replicates Obama’s signature -– to sign the extension, according to White House spokesman Nick Shapiro.<<<<<
