That op-ed piece is bunk. Do you know why all the people (hardly any) coming from the North are muslims? Its because Indonesia is the Country that is North of Australia. The guy who wrote that piece of garbage needs a good kick in the arse.

How can a "Bachmann" rise to prominence in the utopia of Australia?

Given your feeble response to what was a thoughtful article by someone who actually was born in and lives in Australia, I take it that you did not read it.

Not for nothing but Australia elects plenty of crazy people as there are a crapload of political parties. On the plus side a lot of those parties band together on legislation (unlike here).
