Wisc.GOP Congressman whines about how he only makes 174K...
Another out of touch politician who is whining and bytching about how he only makes 174K per year.. guess the GOP is upset with him and his comments, so they are trying to curtail your freedoms by expunging this video...
Wonder how this will resonate with the "fiscally conservative" folks from Wisconsin??
In the clip, Duffy is asked whether he'd support cutting his own salary. Duffy says he would, but only as part of a plan where all public employees' salaries would be cut. He then said that the $174,000 in salary (not including benefits) he receives is a squeeze for his family of seven to live on:

I can guarantee you, or most of you, I guarantee that I have more debt than all of you. With 6 kids, I still pay off my student loans. I still pay my mortgage. I drive a used minivan. If you think I'm living high on the hog, I've got one paycheck. So I struggle to meet my bills right now. Would it be easier for me if I get more paychecks? Maybe, but at this point I'm not living high on the hog.
Probably not able to find the youtube video of his comments, as the lovers of the constitution are sanitizing his trail and aborting our ability to obtain this information.

I just don't get members who constantly post threads with the only purpose being to shed light on the wrongs of the "other side".
You're certainly not the only one who does it here. PF13, Wolfie, Holy Diver...you're all in the same sad boat in my opinion. What does it achieve? Sometimes it appears as if you all try to find some piece of information against what you "Imagine" to be the "other side" just to balance a post made by someone from the "other side".
The only thing is (and it's pretty funny too) is that there is no "OTHER SIDE". You and the others don't have a clue to the reality of the fact that we're all on the "SAME side"
Each of you smugly act (and prolly believe) that you're on the "right-side", when there is no such thing. It's become a laughable, childish game of "see what I found?"
But of course I don't expect it to stop...and it won't.
In all honesty, governors of some states SHOULD make a LOT more than other governors. And they all make less than the market value of their responsibilities. As compared to a toll collector who makes FAR above his/her market value. I suggest you look at all gov't jobs, and I think you'd find that most of the lower skilled state workers make more than their market value. Especially considering that a good chunk of them got hire because they knew someone. At least governors only get hired if the people of their state choose them.
In my company, we have many people who make more than $174k who aren't even vice presidents. And I can guarantee you they don't have the responsibility of a governor. That being said, it is a public service job, so $174k is a pretty chunk of change (unless you're governor or NY, NJ, CA, MA, MD or one of the other super high-cost of living states.
He shouldn't have said anything publically and that was stupid. Other than that, I don't know jack about the guy. Hey, our POTUS only makes $400K/yr...so how can this guy complain?

Geez how stupid of me, thought that this was a political board, your silence is however noted on all of the other threads.. thanks for paying attention.
How would you have phrased it? The reality is that the GOP is trying to silence your first amendment rights by suppressing the video's....

My "Silence"???
Guess what Darryl...this board and the threads posted here (including mine) just aren't important. Who gives a ratsass about what topics our members choose to comment upon?
I guess you do....
Right vs. Left isn't important. The ONLY thing that is important are the issues themselves. The only things we post here are our opinions on the topics we choose.

Eh, PR is right, though.
With this level of political discourse becoming the norm, it should be no surprise that we're getting the elected officials we deserve.

This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”
