Actually, he went well beyond answering it.
I don't have a lot of sympathy for a guy who tries to make a point that his debt is higher than other people's, or that he's struggling to make ends meet for his family of 7 and 2 homes.
My earlier comment was a bit tongue in cheek (re fiscal discipline), but there was some truth to it, too. I don't know his situation, but maybe he shouldn't have bought that 2nd home if things were so tight.

I don't have an "issue" with him, except that I think he sounded like a fool.
He certainly isn't rich, at least not from his income.

All that said, I still don't think you'd consider his comment reasonable if he were a public union member or a Dem saying the same thing.
when it suits you (i.e. it's against the right) you're skeptical, yet when it's something that favors the right you don't doubt sources for a second.
When appearances are bad for Dems, appearance is what matters to you. When appearances are bad for a pubbie but the facts are OK, all you claim to care about are the facts.
