Senate decouple Collective Bargaining provisions votes to end CB by State Workers.
Glad to see some pols show some stones. Now we get to see liberal heads explode. The Fleegate pols rumored to be heading to Madison.
Quote:
After weeks of rangling and protests, Gov. Scott Walker and Wisconsin Republican passed the legislation to virtually end collective bargaining in the state. Halted by the quorum need to pass fiscally related bills in the Wisconsin Senate, Republicans split off the legislative language regarding collective bargaining into a stand alone bill, which did not need a quorum. The Wisconsin Senate passed the bill this evening.

What has been slowly destroying america for the past 50 years has been teachers and public employees who did not contribute to republican campaigns. We can finally rid our nation of his evil.
We should all smarten up, and contribute evey last dime we have to future PACS and campaigns of the GOP for fear that we might lose our rights to bargain.
So long America!!!!
Its been a great run, but like all empires, we have failed our population due to over exertion, greed and hubris.
Game over, BILLIONAIRES win!!!!!
What a country!!!!!

Nelson earned $159,258 in 2009, including $109,892 in overtime and other pay.
He and his colleague, driver Greg Tatman, who earned $125,598, were among the city's top 20 earners for 2009, city records show.
They're among the seven bus drivers who made more than $100,000 last year thanks to a union contract that lets the most senior drivers who have the highest base salaries get first crack at overtime.
Protecting the middle class, my ass!

Speaking of inappropriately posing for holy pictures, Walker made his very first ad about his 2002 campaign promise to give back $60,000 of his pay each year. Quite an odd thing to focus on when in 2008 (during the worst part of the Great Bush Recession) he arbitrarily decided to stop keeping that promise and gave himself a $50,000 raise. All the while, he was cutting important programs and sending other county workers to the unemployment line.
I am sure that you can find extreme cases everywhere. I don't believe that this is representative of the whole. We will find out. The last word on this, will not be by the governor or the politicians of that state. The people will have the last word. If they think the politicians acted unfairly, they will have their day.

Hey, here's an idea. Hire more drivers, then you won't have to spend quite so much on overtime.
This is cute, unemployment's still bad and this city's giving double pay to a few of their employees instead of pulling some people off the unemployment rolls and you blame the friggin' drivers.

This is all about greed in America. Not just public employees, but collectively, we are paying for our own greed. In my opinion, we were lead down this road by our gov't leaders...and yup, it was both democrats and republicans who enticed us by over-heating our economy for the past 20+ years.
I'm just as guilty. I was a guy who was making $27k as recently as 1997. And now I'm making...well, let's just say I now pay much more than $27k in taxes alone. I'm not bragging, I'm writing this because...well, because I want to make MORE! It's human nature, or at least it's a human short coming. Now take my experience and paint it across the nation to both private and public sector workers and we can see why this happened.
The problem the public sector has is that their incomes are dependent upon our paying taxes. And as long as our taxes don't increase, we never bothered to notice. But then the sh1t hit the fan in states and municipalities across the nation...and here we sit arguing over our very own greed.
It had to end sometime, didn't it?
Just remember, this isn't the end of anything. It's just part of history happening in the present tense. Who knows where it will lead us, but it's not something I'm happy about or take satisfaction in. We are a nation of people, not an economic engine we're trying to fix. But ironically, without that engine or even a replacement engine, we'll all suffer...and we are.
