who are the pole smokers? Is that a political movement?
(like it or not, many tea party members were calling themselves teabaggers until they were clued in to the term's meaning)
My friend, this was already discussed in this forum - shame on you!
Since a group of people are going to refer to conservatives with a vulgar euphemism, I specifically asked (and subsequently received) permission to refer to liberals with an equally vulgar euphemism.
Personally I think both terms should be banned. But please tell me you don't feel one should be allowed and the other not, do you?

Since when is the term you threw out used in reference to liberals? Maybe I missed the memo on that one, but the term you used, as far as I knew has never be used as a euphemism for someone's political persuasion...
I'll keep that in mind going forward...as knowing is half the battle.

The "vulgar euphemism" is one they used to describe themselves -- but it doesn't apply to all conservatives, just tea partiers.
Did libruls ever refer to themselves as pole-smokers?

I think it's the context behind it's use that matters.

"The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him." Leo Tolstoy, 1897
Mr.P and I were actually discussing this on the way to the train this AM.
He said the same thing you've said and mentioned that kid who fell in the crevice and cut his own arm off.
You are both right. I spoke without thinking. There are many people who, before the age of 20 or 25, experience life altering events which are of interest to others. Anne Frank, for one. Colby Buzzell for another.
I should not have made such a blanket statement.
That being said - Snookie and Bristol are not Anne or Colby. They got their literary contracts based on who they are not what they are or what they've known or accomplished.
Bristol owes a lot to Chris Matthews on this one, Sarah owes Chris also, he kept her alive.

Since when is the term you threw out used in reference to liberals?
Since I made it up of course! Please be aware that I am using the term to refer to a group of people and not any specific individual(s). I even got a ruling from the mods before using it because I certainly don't want to violate any forum rules.
Are you trying to tell me that it's ok to refer to conservatives with a vulgar euphemism but not liberals?

Wait a second wait a second wait a second. Is that the rule? If I can find a member of a certain group refer to that group as a particular name, then that name becomes fair play in this forum?
I mean, I'm sure if I looked hard enough I could find a black person referring to black people as certain racial slurs. Or a Hispanic referring to his ethnic group with certain racial slurs. Do those slurs suddenly become acceptable language?

It was made up to respond to people who refer to tea party activist as teabaggers, a sexual slur.
