Default Union Question ....

Who said the following two quotes?

"The Polish government has trampled underfoot to the UN Charter and Helsinki accords. It has even broken the Gdańsk Agreement of 1980 by which the Polish government recognized the basic right of free trade unions and to strike."

"By outlawing Solidarity, a free trade organization to which an overwhelming majority of Polish workers and farmers belong, they have made it clear that they never had any intention of restoring one of the most elemental human rights—the right to belong to a free trade union."

Can you comment on why FDR didn't agree with trade unions in the public sector?

I support the right to organized labor (unions) 100% in the private sector, but there's a conflict of interest in the public sector.

Calling BULL$#!T again on this one.

Cops and Firemen are somehow excluded from removal of collective bargaining in the Wisconsin affair.

Last time I checked, those dudes are about at Public a union as it gets.

Try again

I agree, that is BS HD! If he agrees with FDR, then all public unions should be abolished.

I can't figure out the rationale Walker is using.

If you can't "figure it out" then you really aren't paying attention.

I guess I'll make it as simple as I can:

Donate to Republicans or we will defund, and destroy you. This entire crap is about that.

The fiscal crisis was CREATED with tax cuts, to bring about this. Walker even called it "Dropping the bomb". The fiscal crisis is being used to destroy the unions, the Unions generally contribute to Democrats. Destroy their funding, and take over.

Its pretty simple.

Funny thing is, this guy picked the wrong fight, Wisconsin Union workers are no pushovers.

I know it was Lech Walenska (sp?), funny at the time T Kennedy (friend of unions here) was writing Andropov trying to undermine Reagan who was supporting Lech and supporting the opressors the communist.

A little bit different situation HD, but since the left is getting hammered in the WI debate I guess it is tough to come up with a decent point.

"How does (Miami-Ohio offensive lineman Brandon) Brooks not get invited to the combine? How did Vollmer not get invited to the combine? I don't know. We can't really worry about that. We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
