I graduated High School in 1990 in a North Shore Massachusetts town. There were no options in the cafeteria. You either paid the $1.50 and ate what they served up or you starved.

The only good thing was the chocolate milk.
Yeah, sounds pretty much like my experience.
At least the meals were chock full of essential inks...

This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink, loons always try to FORCE their ***** on others (we know best)
Chicago kids aren't buying the Tasteless Michelle JUNK Food.
School Lunch: The school lunch was the original fast food restaurant. As the dynamics of society changed, fast food franchises developed. School lunch lost their identity. They became a follower versus a leader. Some schools even contracted with these fast food franchises bringing those products into schools. The result, was lost innovation and creativity, nutrition, and profits. Today, there are grass root efforts to fix school lunch, to make the meal nutritionally acceptable. The First Lady has also taken on this challenge. Ah, why doesn't she mind her own business. Here's why: The government subsidizes school lunch. It is a worthy cause. The fact is, that there are many children whose only nutrition they will get is from school lunch. You can rant all you want about the adults, but what is a child supposed to do? It is taken for granted when a child goes to school, they will get an education. It is mandated that that child must take physical education. Then, isn't it logical that that child gets a nutritionally balanced meal? Picture two lines of people. In one line are soccer moms (millions),their sole agenda is that their child receives a nutritious meal. In the other line, are corporate interests, Washington bureaucrats, and people with selfish interests (example: Sarah Palin). Changes are drastically needed in the National School lunch Program. It entails not only serving foods which are nutritional, but an education process which starts when the student enrolls. Don't bash Michelle because she's a Democrat or that she's married to the POTUS. The project she has taken on is no different from Laura Bush's or Laura's mother-in-law.
You want to argue about this? Bring it on.

Here is the menu for the Merrimack, NH School District School Lunch Menus
Looks like the only thing that has changed in the last 25 years is that they have added fruit to the awful menu of hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets and tacos.
I'm happy to see that shaved steak is no longer on the school menu!

Chocolate milk is on the hit list. For me, my philosophy was always about the trade off. I'll give you this, if you take that. I would say, kids take chocolate milk 4 to 1 over 2%. By law, we have to offer skim. You might have a teacher once a month come in and buy skim, and that's usually for coffee. So, there you go. Someone sets a policy but doesn't follow through. Kind of like biodegradable trays....................

Chocolate milk is awesome. As an adult the only time I have any kind of milk is with my cereal. I never drink it. Ever.

This isa good point -- why does the right always try to FORCE their ***** on others (we know best)?

By the way, do you want to offer any kind of actual argument on why you think public schools should keep offering horrible tasting food that's bad for kids -- other than the fact that Michelle Obama supports the opposite?
Didn't think so... Just keep regurgitating what drudge and rush feed you...

I drove my history teacher nuts, she used to send me down to the principals office when she caught me looking up her dress, he would take his strap out and hit our hands with it, we used to laugh at him and he would start stuttering, he stuttered when he got mad, when I was in high school I heard he dropped dead in his office we gave him a stroke I still have his picture from my graduation picture, I still smile when I look at him. My teacher wore brown woolen underwear (bloomers)
