Default China

Chinese rioters are getting in on the act, it will be interesting to see how this one is handled.

News Today:
BEIJING - Several top Chinese rights activists have disappeared into police custody as a web campaign urged angry citizens to mark the Middle East's "Jasmine Revolution" with protests, campaigners said Sunday.

Up to 15 leading Chinese rights lawyers and activists have disappeared since Saturday amid a nationwide police mobilisation, according to activists, while the government appeared to censor Internet postings calling for the demonstrations.

Why don't you just caption Drudge everytime you post???.. Matty is proud of his little followers, when you post 1000 items from his blog you can then get a little red star tattooed on your forehead for free..

If I could find it on The Democrat Obama Media I would use them, it's much easier to find things on Drudge thats why so many people use him.

So if Drudge links to a news site that news site is suddenly illegitimate? What does that mean for his links to these news outlets: Associated Press, BBC, CNN, The Economist, Huffington Post, MSNBC, New York Times, The New Yorker, Village Voice and The Washington Post? Are you disputing the content of the article to which he linked? What is your point?

Your obsession with Drudge and Fox is starting to border on "A Beautiful Mind" kind of crazy.

They don't like things brought to the publics attention that they don't agree with.

Example:
Brown skinned Eskimo rapes sled dog (they want this buried but Drudge will report it)

White skinned christian rapes family cat (holy ***** front page for six months chris matthew yells about it for weeks, katie couric has to be sedated when she trys to report it) Drudge reports this also.

Who would have told us about Monica if not for Drudge?

Iran is also having a demonstrations against the regime today, notice the lack of coverage from the MSM and lack of support from the administration for either freedom movement, compared to the support for Islamist......

BTW fear of the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas back movements doesn't mean support for the old governments, it just that all revolutions are good. The Czar was no great shakes, However what replaced it was Much Much worse......

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

Never check out the veracity of anything from Drudge or Fox, just assume that it is right-wing propaganda.

How many sources do you need for confirmation?

How about the Guardian:

Quote:
Chinese security officials questioned or detained scores of activists at the weekend and warned others against staging protests after an online call was made for demonstrations in 13 cities, campaigners said.

The message, posted on an overseas website on Saturday, was titled: "The jasmine revolution in China". The swift crackdown underlined the anxiety of authorities in the wake of the Egypt uprising and protests across the Middle East.
Anger on the streets: unrest in Iran, Algeria, Yemen, Morocco and China | World news | The Guardian

Irish Times:
Quote:
EARFUL THE wave of change sweeping across North Africa and the Middle East could undermine the position of the Communist Party, Chinese security forces took to the streets of 13 major cities yesterday to squash any displays of dissent after a mysterious online call for a “Jasmine Revolution”, inspired by pro-democracy demonstrations elsewhere.

Crowds gathered outside McDonald’s in the Wangfujing shopping precinct, not far from Tiananmen Square, and some protesters were taken away.

One man was detained when he tried to place a jasmine flower in front of the restaurant.

The words “Jasmine Revolution” are blocked on the internet now.
Crackdown to stop pro-democracy rallies in China - The Irish Times - Mon, Feb 21, 2011

The Australian:
Quote:
There was a strong police presence where protesters had been told to gather and more than a hundred known activists were detained before they could leave their homes.

China's well-practiced cyber-censorship machinery roared swiftly into action to quell any unrest. On Weibo, the microblogging site similar to Twitter, the Government blocked searches for the word "jasmine" and prevented the uploading of photographs taken on mobile phones.

The source of the call for a "jasmine revolution" appears to be Boxun.com, a rights advocacy website based in the US. It was closed down after being attacked by hackers. Its slogan - "we want food, we want work, we want housing, we want fairness!" - was not heard on the day of action.
