Beck kinda jumped the shark tonight. Even for him. I usually enjoy his show, in a red pill down the rabbit hole kinda way. He tells us to look it up for ourselves. Sometimes when we do, we find conflicts with his references, sometimes we dont, but always, if we like to investigate and explore the issue in depth, its a red pill adventure.
Down the rabbit hole. Into the Matrix. Kinda fun for an inquisitive mind, whether you agree or not.

But he lost it tonight. I hope he gets it back together. Its obvious he is under pressure. Cuz I like to go down the rabbit hole and follow all those links and the links to the links, to really dig into stuff.

If he doesn't I will miss my Morpheus. Although I dont usually find my opinions coinciding with his, I like the intellectual adventure.

Democracy is a scary thing. Imagine how the monarchy must have felt during our revolution. While our revolution resulted in a nation that was among the last of the western nations to end slavery (and only through a Civil War, no less), ultimately the lesson of history is that democracy leads to a more tolerant, accepting, fairer society. The challenge for Egypt is to stabilize the situation and install democratic reform, not to allow another dictator to seize control. If Egypt becomes a democracy, eventually the conservatives will lose, as they always do, and the nation will become more liberal and tolerant.

I think the real reason righties are upset is that Egyptians were chanting Obama's name in the street, and that the righties were mostly on the losing side.

I don't get it, what was Beck right about? That leaves socialists and liberals. You mean the socialists and liberals shouldn't have been there either?

Look, I don't know who was supposed to overthrow an authoritarian dictator if you get rid of the left and his enemies on the right (the theocrats.) Exactly what real-life Egyptian grouping is supposed to have been in the crowd that wasn't, to make this revolution not fit Beck's being "right"?

Did Beck expect Mubarak to be toppled by a crowd consisting 100% of people chanting "Convert to Christianity! No more taxes on the rich!"

Were they supposed to march East and throw tea in the Suez Canal?

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking. I'm not really sure what the rant is all about. The last two huge democratic revolts were Iraq and Egypt. One was an unprecedented attack on a country which "we" bombed the infrastructure to shreds to install democracy. Today, a revolt for democracy is happening which for the most part has been non-violent by it's own people..........and this is being criticized?

Conservatives mostly solve problems by propping up the military industrial complex. The conservative movement has long been the puppets of the rich in that way. It's interesting how already today Beck's meme is falling apart, with the Egyptian military announcing they will honor all existing peace treaties. Wow, peaceful Muslims! What could be scarier for the righties!

I think what all this proves beyond a doubt is that "Party" doesn't matter any where in the world...especially here in the United States.

It's beyond idiotic to support any party fully because no party stands for anything....

Yep, I can agree with that on a certain level. The arc of the Democrat and Republican parties during their history in American politics is a good example of shifting ideologies whenever the winds change enough to push them. Alliance to a single party, and subscription to its world view, is a disturbing thought, yet too many people, even intelligent people, get caught up in it. Sad, really.
