I've gotta hand it to these Tea Baggers. The Patriot act shat all over our 4th amendment rights, and was a huge intrusion of government. They said they were going to do this when y'all voted your boys in ... this isn't shocking.
It's a small vicory for the constitution, and your rights.
HAVING SAID THAT.......
Using the same logic: When the debt ceiling comes up for a vote, and the tea baggers keep their word, the united states will default and go bankrupt. MOST will blame the tea baggers, or the democrats, or even the republicans, but the truth is.... Its our own fault as Americans, we have sat here doing nothing for 30 years while wall street and unregulated capitalism drained us of jobs, money and rights.
tick tock...
I didn't know Wall St and unregulated capitalism voted on our federal budget and it's associated spending.

When the Tea Party first started to come about, I was definitely intrigued at the thought of a viable third party. When the neocon elements of the Republican party tried to hijack it, I started to become disillusioned, especially as it seemed that the TP was moving in that direction. If they can keep up with a firm third party agenda (in a libertarian-esque vein), I'll definitely eat my words and revisit my conclusions about the direction of the movement.
The problem the "tea party" faces with respect to this (and I've touched on this in the forum before), is that it isn't a genuinely organized party. It's more or less an ideological, grassroots movement. There are different sects I guess you could call it, or different branches in different places, but as some organizers of their events have stated, they don't want to be too organized of a group. If they do that, they open themselves up to the chains and repurcusions such structure brings with it. It's really a catch 22 for them. Not having a certified leadership or organizational structure keeps them true to being a movement, but not having either means they are susceptible to being spoken for, and even hijacked by opportunists and the media.

Tea Partiers are Republicans. To pretend otherwise is willful ignorance.
I think time will show that to be the case, but maybe they'll actually have a more libertarian bent than simply wanting lower taxes. That wouldn't fit with the Republicans or the Democrats.

They're financed by the same people, aligned with the Republicans, vote for the Republicans. Favor almost all the same things the Republicans do. They gained prominence by running as economic populists during a time of economic uncertainty; they'll favor the same counter-productive agenda as the Republicans until their ranks are cut down severely in 2012 and the movement fades into history as an afterthought.

....and a number of them just voted with democrats
That's not the headline of this story now is it? You're like that lady in the cell phone commercial that gets upstaged by the new neighbors surprising cell coverage after warning them about the dead-zone......"yeah, well so?, you got crab grass!"
