Dear Sarah,
I was thinking about you today, I was out in the woods walking in the snow and I saw a Moose, keep up the good work.

News Today:
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Feb 4 (Reuters) - Republican Sarah Palin said on Friday an explosion of government spending and debt under President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats had put the United States on "the road to ruin."
In a tribute to former President Ronald Reagan, the potential 2012 White House contender said leaders in Washington had lost sight of the values that made Reagan a Republican icon and a hero to conservatives -- a belief in limited government, low taxes and personal freedoms.
"This is not the road to national greatness, it is the road to ruin," Palin said of the growth in government spending, budget deficits, joblessness and housing foreclosures under Obama. "The federal government is spending too much, borrowing too much, growing and controlling too much," she said.

Funny how the right holds Reagan in such high esteem, if he was alive in this day and age of the internet he would have been impeached... but guess revisionist history works well for them.
The right has a funny memory...
Lets see:
Negotiating with Iran the summer before elected, and by magic after inaugarated the hostages are released.
He increased the federal government under his watch.
The Iran-Contra mess, enough said.
The largest tax hike in history..
In reality Clinton and even Carter were more popular at the end of his term, than Reagan was. He hit lows of 35% approval during Iran Contra and there was an effort for him to resign.
But Ronny Raygun, the myth, the legend the lie continues to make folks all warm and fuzzy.. in reality he did nothing more than leave us with a bunch of trinkets..

Tough to say that. Clinton might have been more popular, but it's not a slam dunk. To say Carter was more popular is just flatly inaccurate.
But, yes, the wider point stands. Reagan was not the amazing leader people made him out to be, but he's not the demon the left make him out to be either. Oh well, it's easier to speculate when they're dead, I guess.

This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

Clinton 66% and Reagan 63%.. with a margin of difference of -+5, it is statistically insignificant..
Got confused about Carter, when Iran Contra hit Reagan's favorability rating hit 33%.. which was lower than Carter's all time low.
Reagan's myth is much different than the reality..

Pretty much what I said.

Carter's lowest was 28% in July 1979, and the difference between him and Reagan at the end of their terms is of course, immense (Reagan 63%; Carter 34%). I think you acknowledged that, though.

harry started another Palin thread... (waiting for "the libruls made me do it!" )
Republicans hate spending... when it's a democrat doing it. Reagan or Bush or any other pubbie, though, and expansion of government spending is a-ok
Chico stalking Harry in another thread again!
