Banks today make much of their money from convenience -- and from inconvenience.

I don't pay bank charges because I have a brain and don't use the cards in places that they charge. I guess some people are different.

I've never been dirt poor but I was very much paycheck to paycheck my first few years. But I planned ahead and only bought what I could afford.
