As per the incredibly stupid Chuck Shumer, aka the 'schmuck':
"So I would urge my Republican colleagues, no matter how strong they feel — you know, we have three branches of government: we have a House, the Senate, we have a President, and all three of us are going to have to come together and give some. But it is playing with fire to risk the shutting down of the government, just as it is playing with fire to risk not paying the debt ceiling."
This man serves on the judiciary committee deciding who should be on our federal courts.

"Some guys play in all-star games, some guys don't. I don't know who picks all those all-star teams. In all honesty, I don't know who picks the combine, for that matter," Belichick said. "How does (Miami-Ohio offensive lineman Brandon) Brooks not get invited to the combine? How did Vollmer not get invited to the combine? I don't know. We can't really worry about that. We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

Ha.....
Give the guy SOME credit, at least he was able to count THREE. It would've been way better if he said 'We have the Nina, the Pinta and also the Santa Maria."
He says "all three of us have to come together" when a democrat says that it means that some republicans like Snowe, Collins and the new guy Scott Brown should join the dingobats but God Forbid a democrat goes with the Neo Cons.
Lieberman was Bi-Partisan they wanted to kill him.
Never trust a man that always has a sneaky grin on their face (Schumer)

Which party crosses the aisle on votes more, harry?
I think we waste far too much time on these trivial word police games, which plays right into the narrative that Coke, Pepsi, and the drive-by media hopes for. I don't think Shumer believes that those are the 3 branches of government. I think he's simply refering to the 3 parts of the government that need to work together to resolve the financial issues we face. I really hate when people focus on stupidity like this. It only serves to dumb down the overall conversation to the mental migit level. For example, certain media outlets will post this noon and night, and talk about this instead of the real issues we're facing. All sides do this to the detriment of what's important. Instead of talk about candidates or their views on the issues, they talk about some word they misused. Such a shame. It's like the people in here who criticize someone's spelling. As if a person's spelling matters to the actual issue or point being discussed.
BTW, this isn't to say that there aren't incidents where people, or pols, say something that does warrant a "wow is that dude dumb" criticism tossed their way.

"The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him." Leo Tolstoy, 1897

AMEN!
Focusing on substantive issues is the key.

perhaps he's just saying what we all know: that the judicial branch has become nothing more than a vessel for soulless corporate initiative, not any "branch of government."
certainly their rulings the past 10.5 years bare that out.

I'm hoping that when he realized that he mis-spoke, or said something that, if taken at face value, wasn't what he intended, he clarified his remark. If that's the case, anybody still making an issue of it is just being a jackass.
