Default R.I.P Dick Winters- an American hero

'Band of Brothers' inspiration dies at age 92 - MSN TV News

I have no idea if he was and Dem or Rep or a liberal or conservative. What I do know is that another real American hero has passed away.

It wasn't until I read the book, Band of Brothers, that I ever heard of Dick Winters. Then there was the HBO mini series of the same name, which was one of the best ever made IMO.

Like so many real heros no one ever heard of Dick Winters or the men of Easy Company until they were old men. They served their country and came home to live their normal lives.

RIP Dick Winters ... the book and mini series helped explain things for new generations of people. It's one thing to hear the stories or read the stories but attempts at making it visual bring it to a new level.

Dick Winters was one bada$$ dude.

Today's generation could learn a lot from him and his peers. RIP.

The Greatest Generation indeed. God bless him. When these men were young, they saved the world. I hope that somewhere out there he is being reunited with his brothers.

A sad day, one I hoped would be put off a long time. He was a real inspiration to me.

RIP MAJ Richard Winters

This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”
