I'm sure it will be a broad cross-section of doom-sayers over time, likely taking both sides and ridiculing the sooth-sayers. But, getting beyond that, note their mention of our impending global food crisis as it relates to escalating fuel prices.

It's good to see these unpleasant realities finally being acknowledged across the airwaves, even if our Madison Avenue media and Beltway politicians continue to suppress it.

Always find it interesting that our grocery stores only have three days of food on hand at anytime.. so if there is sometype of damage to our transportation infrastructure it could have long term devastating effects...

I soemtimes think about the logistics of keeping big cities stocked...

The reason grocery stores only keep 3 days supply is due to something called GMROI or Gross Margin Return On Investment. If they suddenly decided to keep 7 days supply, their return on investment would be cut in half.

I missed it last night and watched a National Geographic special from On Demand about dropping the atomic bombs on Japan. I highly recommend watching this very emotional show as well.

See, this is the kind of thing I hate to admit may be coming. But in the spirit you presented yesterday, I agree we may be headed for some dark days.

Let us hope we can find a way to avoid them. I think one of the things we need to do first is make sure CORPORATE PROFIT MOTIVES don't get in our way. Screw the oil companies!!! Seriously, all they want to do is own the next generation of fuel sources and I'd go to war against them if they get in the way of speedy progress.

I'm proud to say that I have never even forked a crumb of Spam in my life. I wouldn't know what Spam was, unless it showed up in my email box.

No spam, as a kid was served this about once a week usually fried,

without regard not much of a margin for error in the food supply..
