Default The Progressive Pats (Yet, another reason to love them)

(1) Though ostensibly a nonpartisan cause, One Vote seems to be dominated by liberals and moderates:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G3bNxStYBI

(2) People believe Brady's a Republican because he accepted Bush's invitation to attend the State of the Union speech a few year ago, but that's not the case:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/...31_page2.shtml

KROFT: Lonie Paxton said he had to drive to New York, and you did nothing but play an audio version of Bill Clinton's book. (LAUGHTER) He thought it was some kind of torture.

BRADY: Did he? See, he should have been learning some things. I figure all that dead time in the car, I mean the book's like 600 pages, it'd be a good time to listen to it. That was a great story.

KROFT: You a republican or a democrat?

BRADY: You know, I'm actually independent. I'm actually an independent, and I have been for some time. There's no doubt this world needs a lot of help.

http://www.zimbio.com/TOM+BRADY-GISE...s+Bill+Clinton

(3) TOM Brady was seen celebrating his record six touchdown passes with his supermodel girlfriend, Gisele Bundchen, at Prime 112 in South Beach, where Bill Clinton introduced him to his party as “the greatest quarterback in the world.”

(4) Bob Kraft's campaign donations:

http://www.newsmeat.com/sports_polit...bert_Kraft.php

(5) BB said he's a Democrat, and some of his charity work involves spending time with people in jail. Links to this have been posted before. I know that on some blogs people who claim to know Belichick have even described him as a liberal.

(6) Brady's girlfriend, who wanted Euros instead of dollars, is certainly fairly liberal.

(7) Lastly, here's a case that the Pats organization is really quite socialistic for this day and age:

First, Liberals are more Regressive the Progressive, whatever they want to call themselves. They want to keep the little people in their place, regressive, as opposed to encouraging them to grow wealth, progressive.

Second, the evidence you've presented is nothing. What difference does Clinton introducing Brady make or his girlfriend wanting Euros ? Ridiculous.

Third, however they vote, the Patriots run themselves like a Republican would. You work hard or you're gone. You earn your keep or you're gone. You get what you earn, no-one gives you anything.

Also, Brady's good looking. Republicans are butt-ugly. We don't know if being ugly leads to being Republican, or whether being a Republican makes you uglier. But it's a fact.

Come on. Who ya kidding?

They're very socialist. They take pay cuts for the good of the team. They are selfless in their approach to the game. It's not Every man for himself; it's more like We are a village. As far as their strictness, that's perfectly liberal. Why do you think so many liberals are successful in professions like writing, research, music, acting, science, and others that demand tremendous discipline? You're mixing up parenting style with politics. I think my parents were fairly strict in terms of discipline, and they were pretty typical of liberals. You're thinking of the New Age types, I think, who might look like liberals, but who are probably fairly evenly split along the political lines.

GO-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O PATRIOTS!

Nothing wrong with Democrats, nothing wrong with liberalism, nothing wrong with socialism, even, as long as it is all under God. Some say Jesus was a "socialist" because he taught people to share their blessings (multiplication of loaves and fish). I say, "good on that". We *are* our brother's protectors; we watch his back for any unforeseen dangers. Completely right and good. Where socialism and liberalism went wrong was when they got hijacked by the "God is dead" atheistic philosophy of absolute materialism. Deadly mix. Some say communism is Satan's imitation of God's ideal world, where "one is for all and all are for one"; communism perverts that by saying "all for the state, the state for the party (a select few)".

I see a lot of truth in that.

Good post, Patters!!

Maybe the Pats are God's design for the Heavenly Kingdom sports franchise. Why not.

I don't agree and I think all those like Graham, Law, Vinatieri, Samuel (soon), Milloy (cut when he wouldn't take a pay cut), Branch, Givens, and on and on would disagree too.

I don't know how Belichick votes, and neither do you, but I guarantee you that he doesn't believe in things like welfare for able bodied people. Only an idiot would read that out of him.

No one believes in welfare for able-bodied people, but some of us more focused on helping those who legitimately need it than on punishing those who don't. It's good to go after welfare fraud. Someone needs to do that, and that seems to be a job that the conservatives have focused on. To the extent they've made progress in their more or less 25 years of rule, good for them, but they have not given enough attention to the truly needy, everyone from vets to victims of natural disasters.

You have a cartoon image of liberals. I've been a boss, and involved in hiring and firing. In my experience, a conservative boss issues warnings every 30 days, and if the person doesn't shape up, fires that person. A liberal boss, which I was, tries to get the employee trained and if that doesn't work, fires the person. There are just as many soft conservatives as there are soft liberals. I've had both types. BB's approach is no more conservative than it is liberal. Again, all those liberals in the best colleges came from demanding backgrounds. (In the technology world, I've often found that women are far more demanding then men, regardless of politics. I wonder if others have found the same thing.)

Well you've moved from your so called evidence to your usual sloppy opinions. I don't know and you don't know; the difference is that you think you know.

No, I don't think you do know. I cited 7 pieces of evidence, and you picked out the two weakest ones, then made some speculations (or guarantees) as you called them about BB, which I would certainly call a sloppy opinion on your part. In addition, your claim about liberals tells me you've had no contact with liberals. They're the kind of people you see smoking pot on tv, I suppose, or driving a van with the word "love" painted on the side.

That's the first convincing thing you've said in awhile!
