Default Who is winning the game?

Saw this question posted on another site. If you were going to give a football score to Obama and the Democrats versus the Republicans in the first two years, how would you score it? I scored it like this:

Obama 52, Republicans 37

The Republicans failed on health care, though won some changes: 7-3 Obama.
The Republicans lost on the stimulus bill big time: 14-0 Obama.
The Republicans lost on DADT: 7-0 Obama.
The Republicans won on Gitmo: 0-7 Republicans.
Obama edged the Republicans on appointments: 7-3 Republicans
The Republicans lost on the Matthew Shepherd Act, Stem Cell Research, Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act: 7-0 Obama
The Republicans and Obama rather tied on the START treaty: 3-3
The Republicans lost on various odds and ends, such as cash for clunkers, student loans, public service: 7-0
The Republicans won on the Dream Act: 0-7 Republicans
The Republicans overall won the public relations battle and the House and State houses: 0-14 Republicans

That said, obviously the game isn't over yet.

2-0, pubbies, in a slog through the mud, neither team doing much despite lots of pregame talk and lots of boasting from both teams' fans. (Safety came on the congressional races this fall.)

A tight game, minus 147 to minus 146...

Seriously though I'd put a few more points than you had in the R column for Obama's post-election change of heart on Afghanistan and Iraq, Rep control of the redistricting process in many battleground states, and Harry Reid winning re-election and retaining leadership in the Senate despite being an incompetent ass. That was one race I was pleased to see Dems win in 2010!

There haven't really been any winners for a very long time now, and the future looks even more bleak than the past 10 has...

The Game? Who's winning "the game"? Wow. Then people wonder why this country is as ****ed as it sits today. We look at all this stuff as being a "game". The only "game" being played, is the one that the pols in power are playing with you.

Though I can understand calling it a game from the Machiavellian perspective, my thoughts are basically that. No matter the score in Washington, I'm afraid the American people are losing.

This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

This, oh so much this.

Our country is at a crossroads and its almost too late. Yet I see the same bickering here as in Washington from much the same kind of crowd.

Bottom line here is each one of us has to ask ourselves "am I going to support and defend the constitution of the United States?" Regardless of answer, the rest is easy.
