If watching that video the first thing that pops inside your head is to spout off on your right or left agenda and use it to PUSH your views and slam the other side you ought to be ashamed! I really don't have the words to describe how pathetic it is to watch that happen and then read nothing but finger pointing..."liberals this", "Bush that" I take it that the OP is a "rightie" by the vitrol posting a 9/11 video recieved immediatly mentioning fox news. The OP NEVER MENTIONED RIGHT OR LEFT! Maybe the posters here should take stock in weather they forgot what they felt that day. I don't think of Bush, Iraq, a.q., obl or anything but the people and my friends. Really, really sad that everyone hear just sees that day as a political tool. |

What a lost opportunity he had. Back on 9/11 and for a few weeks after, we were all on the same page. Many of us who dislike nationalism even displayed flags; we were all on Bush's side, ready to trust him, ready to let him lead. He lost us by taking advantage of 9/11 for unrelated activities. He betrayed us when we were emotionally fragile. He betrayed the families of 9/11 by using that tragedy to push other goals. How can you not think of the soldiers who died in the aftermath of 9/11? How can you not think of how shamelessly the tragedy of 9/11 was exploited for political goals at a price even higher than 9/11? You can't separate the two. If you want to pay homage to those who died on 9/11, we should at least be honest. |

I have paid homage to those that died on 9/11 I went to funerals there. I have paid homage to those that died in Iraq and the Stan as I have gone to funerals for soldiers dying there also. I have lost friends in everything you just mentioned. The sheer glee and vitrol that people just post on this thread is PROOF Patters. There was no mention of the "families" of 9/11 in your or anyone elses post. You all just push your agenda with no mention of the terrible day and the tragedy of it. You all just think that YOUR AGENDA and views pay "homage" to those that died? Please that is beyond absurd. That is USING there deaths as much as Bush ever did. When I went to the Vietnam Memorial I was awe struck and cried. I didn't lose anyone as my Dad came home fine. I knew friends Dad's that were spit on and called vile names but I didn't think of that when I was there. I didn't think of the failed policies of Kennedy, Johnson or Nixon or any mistakes thay made. I thought of the PEOPLE NOT the politics or my "views". There is no "homage" in using someone for a political purpose. Discussing Bush's actions on 9/11 and after, discussing the terrorists actions and motivations certainly has its place. BUt the OP posted a video that HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS! It was simply a Video on 9/11 no political overtones or views at all...until you all got ahold of it. HB, you can gripe all you want about the terrorists coming for your family but you did the same thing as all the rest and started gripping about "liberals". I am going to stick with the FACT that if after watching that video the first thing you do is post on here your political agenda you need to check your vitrol at the door for a minute. Funny I don't see a single post EXCEPT MINE following the OP's that mentions the PEOPLE from that day...hell none of you even mention that day at all which is the OP's point I think. You all just go into lock step with your parties talking points. I will say it again PATHETIC...trying to justify it doesn't work on those that actually morn for those lost. |

my gawd... give it a rest... if it was "wrong" to turn it political, then your original poster shouldn't have posted the second link regarding 9/11 Truth...
get on him, not the rest of us for asking what his real point was... no one denies it was a tragedy of epic proportions... it's just that some of us recognize the contributing culprits in it all, and don't dismiss it as merely the machinations of a fanatic in a cave on the other side of the globe and no one else... use logic... and honor their memory by accepting the truth staring everyone right in the face...

C'mon, pats-blue, don't give me the b.s. that the only way to express sadness is to avoid discussion of the events that followed. That may be what Bush and his supporters want, but it does not serve anyone's memory not to confront the difficult issues. We serve the memory of those who died by making sure they did not die in vain, and whether that means supporting or opposing the war doesn't matter; what matters is that in the wake of 9/11 we seek a better world. It goes without saying that 9/11 was a tragic day for all of us, not just families of those who lost loved ones, but it should also go without saying that their memory is best served not be replaying the sensational video but by moving forward and finding lessons from 9/11 that can prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again.
