There is evidence from Saddam's henchmen that that is what happened, I am not adament since I haven't been to Syria and seen any WMD material.

I thought the invasion was justified on the basis of Saddam breaking the agreements he committed to after Gulf War I, hsi hosting of terrorist like Abu Nidal and Zawahiri, not to mention paying a bounty of $25k to the families of suicide bombers and the involvement of IIS in the first WTC bombing in 1993.

The left are the ones who get a hard on that WMD was the sole reason to get rid of Saddam.

Up until the first invasion, Iraq was considered by some to have the best health system in the Arab world and be the most developed nation as well. Bush II is responsible for making things worse, but the failure of the west with Iraq has to be traced further back. We did have some opportunities, and thus Rummy's now controversial meeting with Saddam some time ago. If Bush I's ambassador to Iraq didn't appear to give Saddam the go-ahead to invade Kuwait, the mess might never have occurred. Those Bush's!
