Due to the success in the WOT and the lack of attacks in the US perhaps the terror scale indicator isn't needed. Why try to hijack a thread about an important topic?

Don't you have a homeless shelter to live in?

Medicare and SS are 8 times what Defense is. That doesn't make Defense spending good but it puts it in perspective. I try not to even look at the SS tax amount on my paycheck while remembering that my employer pays the same amount too. SS is truly a scourge on our country and should be replaced by payments only to those who truly need it.

Employers match SS and Medicare taxes. So when you see $100 for SS, and $25 for medicare, your employer has to match that for every employee. I don't think a lot of people know that. Most talk about corporate taxes, but never mention that business' are taxed on employees.

Clearly, access to the internet is far too easy. This couldn't happen in China or Iran.

Governments of 2 billion people can't all wrong!!

No, I don't really think censorship is the best way, but no one can ever convince me that some people don't abuse the service. I think we're all interested in cutting out the garbage and leaving the good stuff, no?

One of many things I don't understand about Liberals is their despreate desire to protect Social Security. Liberals should be against paying rich retireees (those who "don't need it" is how Liberals would likely define them) just as they're against corporate welfare or in favor of taxing Oil Companies extra just for making money. If this were a "Conservative" program the Liberals would be all over it as a giveaway to those who don't need it.
