"I give all praise and honor to God," Obama began. "Look at the day the Lord has made."
Obama's wife, Michelle, opened the rally with a description of her husband that could, at moments, have been a description of Jesus Christ.
"We need a leader who's going to touch our souls. Who's going to make us feel differently about one another. Who's going to remind us that we are one another’s keepers. That we are only as strong as the weakest among us," she said, echoing biblical passages.
Winfrey also touched on Christian themes that had not been highlighted in Iowa. "It's amazing grace that brought me here," she began.

It's quite a bit different than Huckabee who's talking specifics: talking about how we need Jesus and even saying that churches could take care of all our needy for only 10 cents on the dollar. As far as Oprah goes, it doesn't matter what she says anymore than it matters what Pat Robertson says.
A nuance worthy of John F. Kerry. A "R" talks about needing Jesus and a "D" quotes Scripture and talks about bringing the kingdom. Yet you label the "R" as nutty but don't condemn the "D." Is it because you presuppose that the "D" is just a cynical politician who doesn't really believe what he is saying and is trying to dishonestly get votes from religious people, whereas Huckabee is a religious nut who really believes it? You can't have it both ways. If Obama is genuine, he's a nut for trying to bring in the kingdom. If Obama is not genuine, he is just a cynical politician looking for votes.
So which is it Patters, is Obama genuine or not?

Democrat Jesus----------Good Jesus
Republican Jesus---------Bad Jesus
Two of Americas most popular Reverends happen to be Black Democrats who stand on a pulpit every Sunday morning and preach about non other than Jesus Christ (have you ever heard a democrat trash them)
Martin Luther King Jr based his whole career on God & Jesus I don't think he ever made a speech without PRAISING them.
(but we won't talk about that we don't want to hear Huckabee do it)

My issue with Huckabee is not so much that he says his beliefs are grounded in religion, but that he seems to imply specific policies, namely that we should all return to Jesus and that churches should take care of the needy (for only 10 cents on the dollar). If he talks if lofty terms, as all politicians do, I don't have a problem with it.

Edit: If he is pandering for votes, I don't have a problem with it.
In other words, Obama is not genuine.

The person I want for president is Kucinich, but he has about as much chance as Ron Paul. Relatively to Hillary, Giuliani, and Romney, I think we might agree that Huckabee and Obama are fairly genuine. But, that wasn't my point. My worry is that Huckabee seems to be linking his policies to the idea of a Christian state, and that's what I think is nutty, whether it's genuine or not.
