Default Rep. Rangel guilty on 11 counts

House ethics panel: Rep. Rangel guilty on 11 counts | Raw Story

A House ethics panel has found Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel of New York guilty on 11 counts of breaking House rules.

The full ethics committee will next conduct a hearing on the appropriate punishment for the former chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. The committee will then make a recommendation to the House.

Possible punishments include a House vote deploring Rangel's conduct, a fine and denial of privileges.

Corruption is a non-partisan issue and sadly, it seems to have become part of our political system. But Rangel should run out of office for his misdeeds, not scolded and slapped upon the wrist!

If he's not impeached or whatever the process is to take somone out of congress, then all AMericans are being slapped in the face. I mean, come on...11 frikkn' counts and ALL guilty as charged and they STILL want to allow the SOB to hold his seat?

No wonder Americans are pissed off!

I'm not sure the people in his district agree with you. These charges have been pending for quite awhile - long before he was elected by a landslide less than two weeks ago.

That doesn't make it right. The people in John Gotties neighborhood like him too.

I didn't say it was right - I said they apparently still wanted him to hold his seat and represent them.

Charlie should resign, he will not nor will the dem caucus force him to resign. That is why the 'trial' was held before the pubbies took over.

What are you, mean spirited?? This can be explained. I think he was failed by the parents, the neighbors, the community, the schools, the church, the police, and the social services. agencies.

1) How do you force someone to do anything?

2) It doesn't matter who's running congress....he was tried before a panel which included 4 Dems and 4 Republicans. His punishment will be decided by an equal number of Dems and Republicans.
