for those on this board who don't know, chemical fracturing for natural gas is quietly killing our land. I highly suggest the documentary called "Gasland"
skip to 2:22 if you want to see what this process does.
Here is what Karl Rove had to say at the shale-gas conference:
“Climate is gone,” said Rove, the keynote speaker on the opening day of a two-day shale-gas conference sponsored by Hart Energy Publishing L.L.P. And Rove told the trade show, “I don’t think you need to worry” the new Congress will consider proposed legislation to put the controversial practice of hydraulic fracturing under federal rather than state regulation. The procedure, known as “fracking,” is responsible for the dramatic growth of shale-gas drilling in formations such as Pennsylvania’s vast Marcellus Shale.
The good news is that your garden hose will now double as a flame thrower!
The bad news, is our land is being destroyed.

Oh, good!
More Big Government from Washington! Oh well...I guess that "Smaller Government Revolution" was short-lived. I thought the Republicans were into states rights and less Washington control? More bull***** from politicians claiming to be something they're not. If it isn't Obama screwing gay soldiers over, it's this.
Can't wait to hear the "outrage" from the pretenders posing as Defenders of the Constitution". Corporate rule perserveres over the so-called "grass-roots" folks, I guess. Hart Energy needs a tax break to create jobs.

Natural gas in my water system? Awesome! I was hesitant to swap from oil to gas, but this clinches it. Gas power, gas heat, gas hot water, gas dryer, gas stove, and convert my vehicles to gas too! Free power is my kind of power!!!
Seriously, if we worried about what every nge meeting and conference said, we'd all be locked in our basements, living off of canned goods. If those problems are real and if they are unmittigatable, and if the R's in the house pass legislation anyway, how are they gonna get it by the Senate, and then the President?

Karl Rove is the scum of the earth. Karl Rove is also not a part of the government. That being said, I have no clue what this process is, and while I'm sure it's not all roses, I'm not about to rely on a Sundance Film Festival "documentary" to inform me.
What Shirtsleeve said. There is no way that congress could get this by the senate, nor the president.

"The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him." Leo Tolstoy, 1897
Hopefully the documentary isn't as full of misinformation as Algore's film.
Rove is an establishment pubbie jerk who undermined small government teaparty candidates.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
Scary stuff, Lighting you sink on fire always will be.
I find the teabaggers' response in this thread insightful:

Ok, simple answer for the guy!!! No you may not drill on my land...
Simple answer... t's his land, and they offered him money to destroy it, say no.
Unfortunately, these people who get this offer think ohhh money!!! and then they want to complain about it.
Buy and own your land, and do not be tempted by big business money...
If I was that guy I would have sold my land in a heart beat but not for 100k, I would have said sure, but I get 1% gross profit from everything that comes out of it.
