Right here in Maine a Police Officer In Full Uniform was refused his right to vote because he wouldn't give up his gun.

I'm trying to come up with some kind of sarcastic remark but I'm almost speechless right now. I hope this do gooder is never put in a position where he needs a legally armed officer in one of his designated no gun zones. If there is some letter of the law he's relying on then the law clearly needs to be changed.

Apparently it was an over-zealous polling place worker who did not understand the letter of the law which allows police officers to retain their weapons while voting - and he's since been fired.

Here is a better question, why are they voting on a Friday???

Why can't there be uniform voting throughout the country, say a friday and saturday???..
