Well, whatever curious "argument" you wanna make for what you feel the word means, just try not to argue two polar opposite definitions for it like your ally there, little Mel, tried to do. That's my point.
My arguement is that most people who take part in mob-rule activities, generally would not do the activities alone or in a small group. They are willing to do the activity, but not if they are able to be singled out while doing it which I think we would argee is cowardly.
As for the WES protesters, I personally think they're all hippy enough that they are proud to admit they are protesting, though even then I imagine there is a still a percentage that are out there only because of the mob-rule mentality.

I'm not a Tea Partier either, I'm an Original TP'er with Ron Paul... But again, I like a lot of what I see in the movement, and it is organized more than simply "We hate Bush and War"
If you want to try and compare apples and apples, Cindy Shehan and Michael Moore is the Left's version of the Tea Party, but they couldn't really garner te organized support to make a real difference.
Whether the Tea Partiers get out the vote or not, they still have put themselves in a position where their voice matters... say what you will about "this is just the same as the bush hate" but Bush never curtailed his policies to Dems...
That happens through out History... Dems get in, and try to play to Republicans... Republicans get in and ignore everyone but their base... It's why No party can maintain a long run.
A) People like change
B) Neither Party has figured out how to manage a country without back room deals and fat corporate kick backs
Therefore no party will reign in power for decades... there will always be this two party one party system...
And that is why I love seeing Americans organizing, and saying, ya know what, enough!
Granted it's happened before, the 60's and all that for the liberals, but the end result is pretty much the same... were going to change some name plates in D.C., and then get back to business as usual and see how much tax payer money we can funnel to select favorite few.

PREDICTION: Titus Pullo will avoid you like the plague. I hope he proves me wrong though
People have the right to protest, assemble and speak. Its called the 1st amendment. MLK was marching for civil rights, for the government to proect them, for the workers. MLK was fighting for the civil rights act.
there is ni f-ing way MLK is looking upon what he tea party is doing in a positive way. The perversion of his "I have a dream" speech by Glenn frickin beck?
you are crazy if you think he would be in the tea party.....CRAZY.
I know he wouldn't be in the Tea Party, it's a friggin joke for anybody to think he would but he would be standing up for Their Right To Protest And Organize HE WOULD NEVER WANT THEM SILENCED that would be against everything he stood for.
Didn't The Glenn Beck Rally remind you of The Civil Rights Days?

Avoid? Plague? More unctuous language from you, little Mel. Sorry, not the case at all. There's just little to really take issue with in his post.
It's arrogance and ignorance that I hold accountable with any semblance of energy. Two things you feature with aplomb.
I was a Ron Paul supporter also, just like him. It's just that I believe his movement has been hijacked by people very much like you. You can't be a libertarian and support illegal, wasteful, expensive occupations abroad. They don't reconcile each other. Sorry.
I have no love for the dem party, despite your obligatory, reactionary assumptions. We have entered into an era of one-termers, as nothing is going to get any better any time soon and we'll all perpetually be blaming the "other" side. And when the republicans take power again next week and in 2012, they'll learn the same. Same dumb insanity.
The predicaments facing industrial nations are not ideological and partisan. And along those lines, if you don't change the way money works, you change absolutely nothing.

I was a Ron Paul supporter, but it was clear he had no "Personality" to obtain high office. Sad, because he had the right idea for the most part. I disagreed with his isolationist foreign policy, but his domestic policy was spot on.
