Default $227 million in 2010 federal election spending

according to an ABC News report Wednesday, more than 230 independent groups have shelled out at least $227 million in 2010 federal election spending.

Now lets do the Math....

there are 300 Million americans, half are registered voters, and half(ish) of those actually vote.

$227 Million in funding to buy 124 Million votes.

If each of us paid a dollar or more donation to a national fund to vote, could we eliminate corporate financing of elections?

Politicians could then use the public fund to run campaigns. I would gladly give more money to ensure that a company, or 527 group had no influence on my public election. After all, a company doesnt have a vote?

I'd give $5 if I did not have to see anymore of these ridiculous TV ads.

It is so bad here in the Philadelphia market, not only do we get the ads for Pennsylvania, but also Delaware and New Jersey. And than the special interest commercials on top of them.

Agreed...change, shake up washington, so and so is a washington insider, voted to raise taxes on infants...

they are all full of $#!t, on almost every level.

Imagine having your vote be what a candidate was trying to get, not the next donation?

I guess we are lucky we get RI, Conn and Mass... cannot believe that some of these folks are running, every night on the news they allow some scumbag degenerate in a suit tell us how wonderful they are, how they are not an insider, how hard their parents have worked, how much a family man or woman they are and how they will make everything better... everyone has a plan, everyone will stop illegal immigration even the dogcatcher..

wall to wall soundbites..

What a bunch of pikers Barry spent almost three quarter of a billion dollars in the last election.
