On Monday, Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) held a public campaign event at a local coffee shop in Louisa, VA, described as a “friendly event where voters could meet” the Congressman and Republican leader. Jon Taylor, a member of the Louisa Democratic Committee, and his wife RSVP’d to the event and showed up with a sign for Cantor’s opponent, Rick Waugh. The coffee shop owners asked the couple to leave, and when they protested, Jon Taylor was dragged out and put on the ground by three law enforcement officers. Watch:

So in other words, a couple of bungholes showed up at a place where they weren't welcome with the deliberate goal of causing trouble, refused to leave despite being told to by the lawful owner of the property, and are now whining because they were forcibly removed by the authorities.

And that point you're trying to make here is...?
these "unwelcome bunghole" people RSVP'd.
Not to get all Sherlock Holmes on you, but RSVP-ing means you got some kind of an invitation.

I don't read anywhere where it says that if you aren't a republican with a Cantor sign, you can't show up.
FAIL.

Re: Democrat Arrested At Eric Cantor’s Campaign Event
People need to get a life. Hold the sign outside if you want, but why go into a place with the specific intention of causing trouble?

Oh, I read that part. I saw where it said they "RSVP'ed". But I doubt they mentioned in their RSVP that they were attending with the plan to deliberately cause trouble. They were told campaigning for the opposition was not welcome and they were asked to leave.
I guess you feel anyone has the right to do anything they want so long as they have that all important "D" after their name.

I think its wonderful that you consider holding a sign "causing trouble"
Its days like today, I'm proud to not think like a tea partier/republican
speaking of invitations......
Strange how some people get invited to events, isnt it?
Re: Democrat Arrested At Eric Cantor’s Campaign Event
It'll be interesting to know if the coffee shop where the event was being held had been rented out specifically to Cantor and was closed to any other business, won't it?
If it was, indeed, closed for anything but the Cantor affair then the owner had the right to ask the couple to leave - but if he was open for business, probably not.
Unless there was a "no signs allowed" policy in effect and they were the only ones carrying a sign.
Lots of things unknown here.
But don't let that stop you. It never has before.
