As I said, my comment was based on yours that you don't pay taxes.

But if you're not a kid, congratulations, you're just an ignorant, bigoted adult.

Fanatical Islam is the one.

It's a pretty important distinction.

I think we all hate radical Islam here on this board. But we have to be able to live side-by-side with all kinds of people in America. After all, we're almost all from somewhere else.

But I also believe it is easy to make the distinction between the Muslim religion and fanatical Islamic who dupe themselves into believing "Jihad" is acceptable. Why the sane world hasn't gotten together and screamed this is beyond me. And why the real leaders of Islam haven't disowned or declared any Muslim joining "Jihad" against the "Infidel" is no longer a part of their faith is even more baffling.

Can anyone share with us why this hasn't happened yet?

You are right Sir. The rest of the Islamic world needs to come out and condem the radicals. I'm sure some of them are afraid of retaliation but that shouldn't stop them. It looks Very bad for Islam as a whole to remain so quiet while this goes on. Their silence implies that they condone the behavior.

See Flex, once in while, we can agree. and when we don't, it doesn't make either one of us any less than the other or more good or evil. It's just our opinions.

What really bother's me is why haven't leaders of all "other" nations come out and demand that leaders of Islam take this stand? Why hasn't Bush, Obama or any European leaders gotten together and publically demand that leaders of Islam declare radical jihadists "not part of Islam"?

It's very, very disturbing.

Happy Friday!

You don't get out much do you?

Congregation Yetev Lev located in Orange County, New York, posted signs at the village’s entrance – in both English and Spanish – asking outsiders to cover their legs and arms, use appropriate language and maintain gender separation in public when walking through their neighborhood.

What makes this story noteworthy is that the smell of the bacon almost became besides the point. The point became that his Muslim friends complained about the bacon smell. Had he just mentioned that his daughter had allergies, the smell made him physically sick and some of his friends complained about the smell then we would probably never have even heard about the complaint....but no, he had to play the Muslim card as if that were added ammunition he needed to get the exhaust fan removed. That's enough for me to at least have a question on the true motive behind the request and it's order to be removed.

And you don't think that's the media's fault? I've read the stories extensively and I can find nothing which states the court's reason for granting him his request. For all we know the "Muslim friend" remark had nothing to do with it and the fact that the exhaust vent was directly outside of and pointed at his window was their reasoning.

Benefit of the doubt and all.

I hear you. The media jumped all over it most likely because of the Muslim angle, shame on them, but the complainant was the one that felt it necessary to include their faith(friends) in his complaint. Why? Could it be he knew was playing on political correctness? I think that's at least a possibility in today's atmosphere and it isn't too, too far out to say it might have played in the decision at some level. There seems to be some need to constantly prove you're not a bigot or you get the Juan Williams treatment.

I just wish the whole Muslim card had never been played because both bigots and those who think everything is racist exploit it

WWW, I wonder this; Why do you hate Muslims above all other religions?
I am curious as I am agnostic as well and find all major religions to be self serving and not good for the overall population. I also, like you, find myself having a general feeling of distaste, a bais, a "racist" feeling towards Muslims. Mine generally comes from Muslims trying to kill me. I however am able to realize my own unfair feelings toward their religion and temper it with rational thought so I don't unfairly judge people I might meet in every day life who might be Muslim. The only place I allow my "bigoted" ingrown mistrust of Muslim people out is, well, here. I'm not impolite or anything, but I don't let my guard down.
Being Muslim in and of itself isn't really that bad, regardless of it's teachings. It's the societies in which these people live that is the real bad thing. We blame Islam because it is the glue that the people use to bind their backwards societies together.
So I ask again Mr. WhiteWesWelker88, what bee got in to your bonnet?

Would you find similar blanket statements about Jews or Catholics acceptable?

Since when does the freedom to voice an opinion mean that that opinion should be free from criticism?

what you call criticism I call elitism ... someone obviously feels superior here.

If the former (my guess), I'm curious whether he got it from his parensts or he's just a stupid kid.

And if he's just a stupid kid, I'd be curious to see if he starts to realize that few things in life are black and white, and the prejudices he holds make him a worse person. I know I was more prejudiced at 18 -- partly because of my influences (family, friends - who were also stupid kids, of course) and partly because I just hadn't seen much of the world.

Of course, plenty of people just cling to their prejudices, for any number of reasons.

I guess it's up to him which path to take.
criticism is i disagree with you because ....

elitism I am better than you because ...........

I don't agree with much of what he says but it's his opinion and that should not make him above or below anyone here in a forum of discussion. You chose to disagree and berate him ... classic elitist attitude.

You took his opinion and labeled him a deadbeat and stupid ... based on what ... your opinions?

Also ... you labeled his parents whom you do not know ... based on what ... oh ... your opinion again.
