Default UK - 500,000 public sector jobs to go

"The coalition expects 500,000 public sector jobs to be lost as a result of the drastic spending cuts, it was revealed today. Danny Alexander let slip the forecast when he was spotted driving into the Treasury with an open copy of the Comprehensive Spending Review on his lap.

The document stresses that tackling the deficit now is 'unavoidable' and will ultimately benefit the public and private sectors."

Laying off 500,000 workers would be a 10% reduction in UK public sector employees.

This is our future after the irresponsibility of the Bush-Obama years.

You're right...but I think we could add a couple of presidents to that list. We're going to have to pay a price for the excesses of the past 40 years.

Will there be protests in the UK like the ones happening in France because of this? Will government controlled entities in media, transportation, etc. shut down?

Were those 500,000 humans who were needed or who had jobs to get votes from their families?
