First of all: it is perfectly acceptable to be against both Muslim and Christian extremism.

Secondly: it is the American Left, particularly the feminist left, that has been calling out Islamic countries for years on charges of oppression of women. What is your reaction to Feminism? Labeling Hillary Clinton "Pants Suit Hillary", evidently for choosing not to show some leg -- which I'm not sure I want to see in the first place.

Thirdly: American Liberals may not be screaming about a murder in Canada, although neither are most American conservatives. What is my take? If your synopsis is accurate, of course the guy should be found guilty of the applicable Canadian laws. Duh. You don't see your favorite liberal stalking horses running to the great white north to set up a legal defense fund for this guy.

I dunno, they mentioned Bush's actions in bringing about her release on NPR today. I wish I had a link, but I was listening while driving on 128 and therefore couldn't even take any notes. I'm pretty sure they said the king pardoned the lady and 100% sure that they felt that Bush's direct intervention played a significant role. Now I hate the guy as much as everyone else, but if NPR says he helped get her out from under that awful sentence I have to give credit where credit is due.

and yes, I'm holding my nose as I type this.

Had heard about the pardon, but not about it being due to the intervention of Bush, if he did so Kudo's to him.. if he did not shame on him for not doing anything.
