Well Reagan certainly made mistakes suh as amnesty, OTOH he won the Cold War and took the economy from stagnation to the greatest generation of growth we have seen.

You'd like to think it was this simple, wouldn't you? The reality is, it was far more complicated than your little summary above. I never voted for Reagan and I honestly couldn't wait until his tenure ended because backt then, I hated the republican party with a passion.

Flash forward 30 years and everything has changed. Cheap oil isn't the only reason our economy prospered. Technology is the main reason it prospered....far more so than cheap oil.

And Reagan fascilitated the end to the cold war more than anyone else. And even though I wasn't a Reagan fan, I had great respect for his role in that historic moment when we all saw "The Wall" torn down.

He did not win the cold war, USSR was toast before he came into office.. he did a great theatrical presentation, but the cold war was over before he came into office...

He also emboldened Hezbollah by not retaliating after they killed over 250 Marines...

He also did several impeachable offenses including the Iran Contra Dealings and secretely negotiating with Iran prior to his election...

He also had the greatest tax increase in recent history..

There is no bitterness, just an effort to portray who this guy really was.. he was not some cartoon character, despite the efforts of the right to portray him as something he was not..
