Because the CBO is reporting the deficit for fiscal year 2010 will come in at 1.29 trillion dollars. Thats $1,290,000,000,000.
I think something we can all agree on here(I'm sure i'll be proven wrong however) is that kind of deficit is something we just can't afford. 2 years of Obama = $2.69 trillion in debt. This is going to destroy our country quickly if we don't get it under control.

Yeah, nice throwaway. So you want us to pull right out of Iraq and Afghanistan right? Why isn't golden boy doing it then?
Newsflash, we are just about out of Iraq.. if we did not go there it would have saved 2 trillions of dollars, but there is no outrage from the right on this one...

Unfortunately it is impossible to know what other things would have happened if we did not go into Afghanistan and/or Iraq or what the economic and fiscal consequences of those things would have been. So we cannot say that we would have saved anything because we simply do not know what would have been different.

That's what everyone is saying but a good friend of mine is scheduled for deployment to Iraq in 8 months???
you can't leave 50k soldiers and say we are leaving Iraq...
Ron Paul has it right, bring all the troops home from all the 100+ military bases we pay to have.
We are wasting money, and last I checked democracy is on the decline, so that tells me that military might doesn't beget democracy. Slash the defense budget by 75%, bring it inline with the rest of the world, and actually try to establish a world in peace.
We spend trillions to keep the world in a state of warfare for profits.... WE funnel American Tax payer money into the hands of a select few in the vail that is war...

If it's that easy, why isn't the golden boy doing it?
That is just about the "legacy" costs for the soldiers wounded in Iraq...
Seriously, this is all you have to say? We have a democrat president, and a democrat controlled house and senate. Am I wrong in my understanding that they passed the 2010 fiscal year budget? They put their stamp of approval on it, correct? And then they over spent that budget by 1.29 trillion. While the rest of America, whether its large business, small business or families is cutting spending and cutting back where they can.
Projecting another 1.29T for the next fiscal year, this doesn't include the Fannie & Freddie money we are on the hook for (or have paid). Thanks Barney.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
