By nuts we mean his positions on a multitude of issues. Most Libertarians have some unrealistic positions for today's world. If this were Candyland, I'd support a lot of what they propose. The thing is, we don't live in Candayland.

Yeah Wistah, I wasn't insulting Ron. I do think a lot of his ideas make sense. When I say nuts, I mean his ideas seem unrealistic for the country, and many feel that way. I lean Libertarian overwhelmingly in theory, but I recognize that some of the ideas are impratical. I don't mean he's personally a wack-ado.

My hope is that a guy like Paul, if he's not elected, would be named to some high ranking post inside an administration. Won't happen though. He should have run for governor of Texas, and maybe he'd have had a shot nationally.

If you think Ron Paul is the best man with the best intentions for America compared to the other candidates, you should vote for him. This is not a popularity contest, unless of course you buy the bullsh-t the media is feeding you. Hillary, Rudy, Mitt and Barrak are nowhere near as devoted to our freedom and the Constitution as Paul is. For me, that is the most important thing when chosing the leader of the US. It really turns my stomach when I'm told Paul is un-electable (no offense, RW) and that I'm somehow wasting my vote and effort. One of these days, it will be acceptable to act on your conscience and do something purely because it is right. I also respect other candidates, but they all seem to be bringing up the rear because they refuse to prostitute themselves for lobbyists, PAC's and the media. I travel abroad often to visit friends and relatives, and they think we're nuts (not that it matters) the way we run our elections.

I don't say he's unelectable because I don't like him, or am trying to diminish his cause. I'm merely pointing out what I forsee to be the reality of his candidacy. I'd much prefer a guy like him to an establishment fool, but I think he's unelectable in today's USA.
