Interesting story in the Navy Times this AM, show how Saddam was hostile towards muslim extremists and did not trust them..

WASHINGTON — Former Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz, a prominent member of Saddam Hussein's inner circle, told the FBI that the dictator "delighted" in the 1998 terrorist bombings of two U.S. embassies in East Africa but had no interest in partnering with Osama bin Laden, declassified documents show.

"Saddam did not trust Islamists," Aziz said, according to handwritten notes of a June 27, 2004 interrogation, although he viewed al-Qaida as an "effective" organization.

Saddam considered bin Laden and other Islamic extremists to be "opportunists" and "hypocrites," Aziz told the FBI, during one of four interrogations in a U.S. detention facility in Baghdad.

Saddam was a nice guy, the NY Times and The Huffington Post flew their flags at half mast when he was pronounced dead.

Yeah that little fact is one of many that got disappeared in the run up to war. Muslim faithful don't even have one palace by and large, let alone dozens and they certainly don't insist on adulation for themselves, hero worship is reserved for just one entity.

Like any other criminal he found religion only when it was time to pay the piper.

I think he said "We" meaning us and not them. How is killing his own people "genocide". Don't you have to kill some people other than your own to qualify. Not defending the guy- he was a class-A prick- but just wondering why you use the language you do.

And you miss the point of the thread. The government and the military acted on our behalf to slaughter innocent people who had done nothing to us. Problem is that we and Congress were apparently given bogus information and denied the truth ramping up to this treasonous act and both were done intentionally. That's bad.
