Not sure how much sway Pat Robertson still holds on the whole Christian right, but this might be a pretty significant step in Giuliani's campaign considering he'll need that Christian conservative movement that is still relatively wary of him.

It's nice to see Robertson backing a pro-choice, pro-gay candidate who in his personal life practices anything but family values. The Lord acts in mysterious ways.

Yeah I imagine he's throwing his chips in with the candidate he feels will win the primary. Also, if it came down to Giuliani vs. Clinton or Giuliani vs. Obama, I think we know who he'd prefer.
I guess you can't always find a candidate that supports your views 100%.

Well, he's certainly more open minded than the typical liberal... just out of curiousity, who are some national pro-life democrats..? Oh wait, there are none... they get complete run out of the democratic party before they even know what him 'em...

Harry Reid is Pro-life. That's the only one I know.

I guess you'll be voting for Rudy then since you two seem to hold so much in common? I like Rudy in some ways, and really don't like him others. Rudy's skeletons will hurt him significantly, but a match up against Hillary might help curb the damage.

I know you're not a Mitt fan RW, and it seems like you're not a huge Giuliani fan either. Who would you back as the Republican nominee? I certainly echo your sentiment that they all have problems, but when I looked at the Democrat nominees, there's no one in reach of winning there (pretty much Hilary or Obama, though Edwards has a ver outside shot) that I would get behind.

None of the above an option? To be honest, I'm almost looking forward to the 2012 election, more so than this one here. I'm mortified by some of the candidates, as they seem to be not ready for primetime, socialists, uber liberals, suits, Amnesty appologists, and just flat out weak. This 4 year period will require someone with immense back bone, as we're likely going to see some turbulent days ahead. I think it's very likely, not certain, but likely, that the winner in 2008 is a one term title holder. It's still a year away which we all seem to forget, so I can't say who I like right now, and I'll only say I'm not enamored with the people I've seen so far.
The dems are in lock step with Hillary, and the candidate I like the best on that side is Biden. He's a middle of the road traditional democrat, and not one of these new order progressive types. Of course, since he makes the most sense, he doesn't have a shot. On the GOP side, there are so many candidates, it's hard to figure out what any of them are all about. The more I hear Huckabee, the more I like him, but I really know little about his record, so I'm going on his debate answers. That's not much. I like what Rudy did in NYC, turning that *****hole completely around, but he seems like a borderline appologist on Amnesty, and his skeletons bother me alot. He's results oriented, and decisive, which are very big pluses, but I've got serious reservations still. Thompson seems like the Reagan'esque guy, but where is he? Is he even running? I haven't seen him campaign really. That's troubling. I think the lazy label is looking like the real deal. If he's who I think he is, then he could walk away with the nomination, but it doesn't seem like he wants to make the effort. McCain lost me when he pushed Amnesty. Adios John. So who's left? Romney? Good business mind, but far too pandering for votes. He's a statue in a suit, a manequin. He's tanned to the point he's neon orange. He seems like one of those dolls where you pull the string in the back, and he repeats one of 20 rehearsed lines. He came here to MA as one thing, and now all of a sudden, he leaves us dry, and he's some super right wing conservative when he realy isn't. See, I've always prefered honest, or decisive candidates. I'd rather a person stands up and tell me what he/she stands for, and why, so that even if I disagree, I atleast know where they stand. Pandering is part of politics, but there is a limit to how much I can take. Romney is the ultimate panderer. Where I will give Rudy props, is he seems the most comfortable in his own skin. That Hillary crap with the licenses for illegals shows she isn't. That's a panderer being undressed.

Thanks for the answer. I was just curious what you thought, as you and I are on a similar wavelength and it appears as if this time is no different. I think I'm a little more pro-Rudy than you though. I like his decisiveness and results-orientation, as you said. I think some of his more liberal stances were necessitated by being mayor of such a huge city that is also predominantly liberal. In general he seems to speak his mind, though lately I have heard him using some catchphrases and typical politician-type things that I despise. Huckabee is a really good guy, but he doesn't have enough name recognition to do much yet.
I like Obama's forwardness of his opinions. I think most of his policies would be a nightmare, but I respect the fact that he, 1) seems to genuinely care about the well-being of the country and 2) he's honest about his leanings. I can't really imagine a world in which I voted for him though.
