Default Democracy in the Middle East

Pakistan, one of our closest allies in the Middle East, has declared martial law, suspended the constitution, rounded up lawyers and judges, and will begin cracking down on dissident groups now.

Ahhhh! The sweet smell of democracy wafts through the air in the ME!

When the kids get out of hand then it's time for a little discipline.

In the absence of law and order society will surely destroy itself.

You mean Pakistan, the one that harbors Al Queda and the one that neo-cons traitors defend? The same Pakistan that has receives over 11 billion in US aid since 2003 and continues to export terrorists? The one that serves to threaten its neighbors India and Iran with nuclear weapons?

The one with the govt the Bush-Cheney cabal is protecting even though they came to power in a miliatary coup?

That one?

Maybe we should ask Harry boy. He seems a well travelled sort, highly versed in foreign policy and middle east history. Maybe he could speak for the right.

Yes that Pakistan. The one that has a huge radical population, and has nukes.

I'm not sure what you mean by that? What does that mean? So GW is supposed to keep Pakistan in check? It's Mushareffs support of the USA that's fueled the problem. Of course, some people think we should have invaded that country, or sent our troops in over their objections. If you think this is bad over there, that would have resulted in a revolution.
