Say what you will about Romney, he's the best of the lot right now. Things could change, but for now he's the best there is, all things considered.
I think if Hillary is the Dem candidate that alone will mobilize the 50% who are already on record as saying they would NEVER vote for her. Now, if one takes another even 30% who favor someone like Mitt, that gives him more than enough to win.
Thank God.

The Moron Hater Democrats are doing the exact same thing they did with Gore/Kerry, they will Nominate this wretched witch Pant Suit Hillary and their own voters will turn on them and vote for the Republican.
Hillary Clinton & Her Lip Biting husband are two of the Slickest, Lying, Back Stabbing, Vicious, Dishonest, Immoral people to ever be involved in American Politics (Satan & His Wife)

Bill and Hillary are scary because they just WANT IT SO MUCH . One must always be concerned when somebody lusts for power, have plotted and planned on it all their lives. Ever since she was at Wellesley in the 60s, Hillary has been prepping for this. She just wants it too much. Any woman who will put up with what her husband did just so she could later use him in her campaign is not really a woman; she's a "user" of people. Probably a big reason why Bill has always gone off on his affairs.

Try reading about the Bush and Romney families, not to mention the Kennedys, if you want evidence of a lust for power that is rooted more in idealism. Clinton certainly had a lust for power, but it was driven by idealism not family name. All candidates have a lust for power, only a few belong to families that instill that lust into them. Perhaps that's the reason Bush was an alcoholic (and possibly drug addict); he couldn't take the pressure as a young man.

Or maybe he was a total party animal who had little pressure, because of his family's $$ & power, and therefore couldn't control himself. Kind of like Al Gore's kid, or Andy Ried's two sons in Philly. Some people, when they have a silver spoon, loose their self control. That's not to say that your theory isn't accurate. It's just that while GW strikes me as a lot of things, like arrogant, ****y, and stubborn to name a few, he really doesn't come accross as the insecure type. It's almost as if he's to sure of himself. It is interesting to psycho analyze people though.

"The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him." Leo Tolstoy, 1897

There is a world of difference between a person whose family has done well (economically and socially), as the Bush family has, and who now wants to give something back to society by public service, contrasted with someone who just wants the perks that such powerful positions bring: the fame, the adoration, the glory, the attention, the babes.
Hillary may not be after the "babes" (though I'm not 100% sure on that) but she sure does want everything else.
W Bush had some pressure in his life, but we're talking about the Baby Boomers! Show me a Boomer who hasn't had his/her bout with booze/drugs/sex in any combination thereof. Especially those of more privileged families, as the Bushes certainly are, have been prone to these weaknesses.
For the Clintons they have wanted to "change the world" since they were in college, but their way of changing the world would be based on a flawed and woefully repetitive act that has been played out before, to the disappointment of all. No thanks, Hillary.

You're simply projecting that onto them because you don't share their views. Certainly, whether you agree with Clinton or not, it's hard to think of an exPresient, other than Carter, who continues to give back to society with public service. I'm sure he likes babes, though, I'll agree with you there. But, your adoration of the Bush family blinds you to their ambition. I don't begrudge their ambition, but I certainly don't see it as more noble, simply because they're already rich and powerful. That's absurd.

They're all ambitious, quite obviously, from Mike Gravel to Mike Huckabee to Mitt Romney to Hillary Clinton, etc. Maybe Thompson is a little less ambitious, but his sexy wife apparently is.

That's where we disagree. In general, the history of the world has been a drive towards greater freedom, greater tolerance, more help for the needy, more compassion, more economic equity, and other liberal initiatives.
