i don't have "problems" with it... i just find it ironic....
Given the choice between Hilarity and Romney, the right will vote for Romney. The time for religious parochialism is over.
The right-wing is very comfortable with parochialism and bigotry. I'm betting a lot of Christian righties would stay home, unless the fear of woman president had religious resonance for some of them, which it might. In other words, for some of them sexism might trump religious bigotry.
Politically correct people that don't like stereotypes
and don't like calling other people names should not
call Bigots "Bigots"

You sure do spin things into the worst possible perception of the intentions of others, don't you.
Whatever the reasons the religious right decides to back Romney, what matters is the final score, not the way it was made. Be that as it may, I'm betting that enough of the religious right will realize what a total disaster a Hillary presidency would be -- flip-flopping will be elevated to an art form as never before, and self-justification will become the hallmark -- that they will put aside any relatively minor religious issues in favor the much greater national social issue of having a far more principled person, Romney, in the White House.

I'm not spinning things. It's pretty easy to document that a lot of Christian Evangelicals have problems with Romney's religion.

Romney's flipflops include gay rights, abortion, stem cell research, gun rights, and immigration. There is very good documentation of those flipflops, but I'll provide this link simply because it provides info on all his major flipflops:
Now, what flipflops of Hillary's are you talking about? The best I think you find is Iraq, but even there she has stood by her terrible vote authorizing force and has simply criticized the handling of the war. In fact, if the relatively good news continues out of Iraq, the "change the course" position that she held despite attacks by liberals will prove to be very savvy. Her record is actually very consistent.

That Romney's Mormonism would cause a stir among the rigid few of the religious right!!! Wow!! What a surprise.
Romney re abortion: all your link provided were vague statements that I interpret to mean that Romney respects the law as it is written but would like to see it changed. No big deal for me.
Re stem cell research: Romney is opened minded yet there are *some* types of research that cross the boundary line. Another no big deal.
Re "gay" rights: he had one opinion in 1994, and another in 2006. Wow!! Someone changed their mind over 12 years!! On one of the most heavily propagandized issues in history, no less!! Still no surprises or unsensible thinking *or* action on Romney's part. In fact, I applaud him for his maturation.
Etc, etc.
All in all, the Log Cabiners are flailing at straws, desperately trying to ax Romney because Romney has shown he will not toe the line of "accept homosexuality, or else". He's not afraid of the pressures he knows he faces, and I commend him for that. That alone demonstrates more character than Hillary or any other Democrat could muster in a hundred years. There's not a one of them who isn't owned, lock, stock, and barrel, by the free sex/homosex lobby.

Rove has said turnout is key, and what typically happens with an unpopular candidate is that their lukewarm supporters do not turn out in large numbers. It's important to keep the base motivated; that's why Hillary, despite her high negatives, has a good shot at winning.

C'mon, Fog, we're talking politics here. Of course people have the right to change their mind, but the opposition invariably uses flipflops to raise the question of trust. Can you trust Romney on those issues? Well, even I think so, because I think Romney is a right-wing opportunist, and won't need to be an opportunist if he gets elected. But, the fact is most voters are not politically involved and if they are presented with video evidence showing Romney saying one thing and then another, it will hurt his chances.
Not what were the flipflops of Hillary's you were talking about?

"Romney said it should be up to states to decide whether to allow same-sex marriage and he criticized Republican "extremists" who imposed their positions on the party."
It's pretty obvious Romney will say or do anything to get elected. He's the most whorish candidate around, and in that way quite similar to the Log Cabin Republicans.
That said, of the lousy candidates on the right he still might be the one with the best chance of winning.
