Default Ron Paul vs. Morten Downey Jr. 1988

Paul being dominant way back when, against a stacked deck on a rather hostile stage....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHB2I83_N_k&NR=1

20 years ago, and a few questions come to mind:

1) what ever happened to MDJ?

2) how many righty blowhards here were big MDJ fans back in the day?

I think I'm dumber now, than I was 10 minutes and 18 seconds ago.

Well, I was all of 14 in 1988, so forgive me if I don't know much about Downey, and his crowd. Was his show always politics, or what it a Jerry Springer type deal?

it was like a political Springer before Springer, but touching on major domestic social issues.... usually the drug epidemic, "reverse" racism, immigration, and freedom topics -- such as MDJ's right to smoke constantly, anywhere... his crowd was essentially the same as Springer's... obnoxious, loud, irrational, mob mentality, etc.

he would routinely whip his Klansfolk into an outraged frenzy... you should have seen the show when he had a former narcotics officer on alleging the CIA launders drug money into the U.S. economy... i think the guy received death threats each segment, and Downey spit on him...

however, today, the evidence is pretty clear the CIA did fascillitate the import of drugs into the U.S. ... you know, back during the "war on drugs"

and, well, Downey's show didn't last very long...
