Go live elsewhere? Wasn't someone just telling me something about having a civilized, rational discussion?

It's not a moral issue. It's a public health issue. And you need to get a clue. Thankfully, the school system, the supreme court and public health officials, along with most reasonable parent have a clue.

I didn't mean that, I was being ironic. My point was that whenever someone on the left criticizes a current U.S. policy all you hear from the right is "well this is America, if you don't like it why don't you move to Canada." I was just showing you how infuriating it is to hear that.

Study: Abstinence-only doesn't work

WASHINGTON, April 13 (UPI) -- Abstinence-only sex education has no effect on the sexual behavior of U.S. teenagers, a new study found.

The study was authorized by Congress in 1997.

Researchers tracked four groups of children in two rural and two urban communities, half of them given abstinence-only training. All the children received whatever sexual education was routinely given in their community.

When the study ended, the children's average age was just under 17. By that time, almost half had become sexually active, The Washington Post reported.

Fewer than 25 percent of the sexually active group reported consistent condom use while 1/3 had had multiple partners. Teens who had been through abstinence-only education had the same behavior as the others.

Nothing should be given to my child by anyone without me being aware of it. Yes there are thousands of things I did growing up that my parents did not know about...but no one of authority ever did it. Do you really think a school/nurse/counselor or whoever has a complete medical history of my child to know what possible side effects could occur. This is an 11 year old....not an adult. Until someone starts paying to clothe, feed, provide medical care, provide a roof...etc etc.... do not give my child anything without my consent.

Thanks for saying so RW. If I keep taking enough shots, every once in a while I hit the target I guess. Maybe I should use a shotgun. You don't have to aim as well. But I have to say RW that your being far to modest as usuall. Your out there every day posting solid material I'm around once in awhile.

"At King, birth control prescriptions will be given after a student undergoes a physical exam by a physician or nurse practitioner"

Yes, they will have access to your child's complete medical history.

I actually see greed as the culprit.Greed on the part of companies whos ceo's make 400 times what their average worker makes, and a culture that has to have every new gadget that comes along,as well as the biggest house, car, truck etc. Combine theses two and you have a recipe for the decline of moral values. The parents leave it up to the school to teach their kids moral values, thats not the schools job. The schools job is to teach reading writting and rithmatic. And maybe spelling.....
In my day the whole country thought like this, good post Blue

2.Physiologicaly what are the effects of giving and 11 year old birth conrole pills.
