Discussing his recent dinner with Rev. Al Sharpton at the Harlem restaurant Sylvia’s, Bill O’Reilly reported that he “couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks, primarily black patronship.” O’Reilly added: “There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer, I want more iced tea.’”



This is just mind-blowingly lame. What world is he living in that this is somehow surprising to him. The idea that a grown up person with a powerful voice in the country lives in such a bubble is astonishing to me.

He was talking to Jaun Williams who is black, and from the excerpt of the radio show that is posted, it seems that they were discussing something along the lines of the publics perception of urban black america, or the hip hop culture, etc...

When you first get to his words, they seem very strange, but when you read what follows, and the context of the conversation through Williams' words, you get a better picture of what they are talking about.

Just saw Juan Williams on BOR, and he was dumbfounded by CNN and Media Matters' calling O'Rielly a racist. Hope the clip goes up on youtube soon.
